Tony/Tyler Teasing Us Again...

Wow, so obviously a plant, honestly, anyone who knows anything would know they would shred papers like that to dispose of them. I admit it could be for landscaping, or maybe it is just a prop. But really...

Three things you need to fix anything in the universe: duct tape, WD-40, and a hammer. Duct tape if it moves and it shouldn't, WD-40 if it doesn't move and should, and the hammer as the last resort.

The paper size seems to be small, most real prints are larger plotted prints. This paper seems to be a 8.5x11 sheet of paper.

I agree that this is a planted item. But I completely disagree about the size issue.

Using the Garbage can as a refrence to it's size, and taking into account that only a small portion of the paper is sticking out, this sheet seems much larger than an 8.5x11 sheet of paper. You can't even see all of the Cedar Point logo, not to mention that the architect/engineer's logo and company information was completely left out of the picture. I'm not saying I'm an expert or anything, but I am a CAD drafter and in my opinion the standard in the industry for a plan is 24"x36" That's what I think the size of this plan is too.

I can't even figure out what part of the park that is. I've been to CP over 30 times and i really can't identify where this is at.

I think this paper was planted, but it is involved with a ride for next season. It's probably just something to build up hype until the announcment. That probably means that Tony/Tyler know what's coming for 06.

Todd, as my mom always said, "Don't count your chickens until they're hatched." You never know, Todd. You never know.

The "you never know" says a lot. Tony & Tyler are having to much fun with this.

I can't believe people even believe that it *wouldn't* be a plant. The logo isn't current at all, the font looks circa 1980. There's no logo for the designing engineering or architecture company, the font is too "pretty" for any kind of construction drawing, what CAD drawing is made without a border around the main plan?, they're not going to call their newest attraction "New for 2006", and the title block is way too simple. A real construction drawing would need a spot for a CAD drafter, a checker, possibly a designer, a date, etc. etc.

I won't doubt it might contain some actual information, but to even think for a minute that it's not just a plant to get people talking? Come ON!

That and you honestly think two guys that are employed by Cedar Point aren't going to call whatever's new down the tube this week the most exciting news in the world? What company has ever said, "oh well we have this new thing, but really, it's just boring crap" even if it's something as small as ticket prices. To them, I'm sure bathrooms are *really* exciting news as it pays just as much and gets people just as interested to act excited about a new bathroom as it does a new coaster.

As for what's actually drawn on there, nothing to really back this up, but I think it's just a map of the general area they "found" it.

Hmm... has anyone else noticed that Jeff/Walt (whoever updated the site, I'm not sure) on the front page next to the 2006 Watch has the picture of the garbage can next to the white piller? Correct me if I'm wrong, but that has been there for a few days, correct? And look at the picture on the blog. Garbage can... white piller? Huh? HUH?

*sniff* *sniff* Do I smell a consparicy theory?

Brett, I have used a few Cedar Point blueprints during my landscaping days. I can tell you that the plans pictured, down to the older logo, are consistent with what I've seen.

Ok, unprofessional in my opinion, but duly noted ;)

Wake up everyone if someone was throwing trash out they would put it into the OPEN door they would not lift the whole lid and only get it halfway in so the blog/free advertisement could have a photo op.. CP is playing us for fools if WE believe that those plans are A: real or B: accidently left behind.. free hype keeps people interested.

I can't believe that people actually think these were really found in the trash randomly and by accident by these guys. You people cannot be that dimwitted.

I think they're real!
What I think Tony and Tyler did was make an altered copy of the plans (switching the titles) and made up the whole "We stopped to take a picture of the museum, when, OMG look what we found!!" to "fool" us (notice the emphisis on fool).

But whatever the plans are, they look small (not a coaster). So now we need to guess as to what the plans are of.

This is stupid. They are trying way too hard to build up the buzz for the ride. Best way to build up hype for a ride...Dump a few parts in the parking lot and put a fence around it with a sign that says no climbing.

What do you care, you always say that if Top Thrill Dragster isn't open you won't go to Cedar Point? Hasn't there been enough "OmG!!1 I know Cp will get this KinD of coaster next year11!1!" threads? No matter how much you look at that blueprint, no matter how much people brighten it up and draw lines on it, will it give people on here enough details on the new ride to be happy. Then they announce the whatever and people will still cry it isn't 50505059 feet and has 1 million loops.

Wow, this thread is just wow. I can not believe people actually think the plans were just laying there.

There's no freakin' way that paper is 24"x36". You should know better if you're a drafter. At MOST, its an 11"x17" piece of paper. But, regardless of the paper size, they most likely took a PORTION of the full drawing and plotted it within that border for their prop. I'm sure the title of the REAL drawing is not "New for 2006". There's also no way that the piece of paper could "accidental" get stuck UNDER THE LID of the garbage can. Please.

I think the idea of creating a buzz around their new "whatever" is a good idea, but its being executed poorly. I think what Holiday World did was innovative, creative and extremely well executed. Look at how much buzz it created too! They had people from several states away come to their announcement just because of their blog tool and wicked original "teasers". It seems to me that the family owned small companies do a much better job at things like that. Tony and Tyler (although they mean well) come across as a poorly scripted "reality" show to me. They know what's coming, so I'd rather them be like Holiday World and just tease us with it than claim to not know anything.

Ok, last year as a junior in high school i took a drafting class. The 2nd semester we used CADD and designed tools, and a house for a basics of Architecture. This year i'm taking drafting 2 and architecture and nothing we even did had that kind of layout for the plans. We use professional styles and that was deffinetly not professional. Somebody drew up a boarder and name block and put some squares and lines on the page, then they smudged it with dirt. All this hype will be over a new restaurant or something stupid like that. If they wanted to put a roller coaster back in frontier town they would have to many trees and what not to work around. Think about it. All the buildings, trees, walkways, other rides/water rides. They would have to do some major clearing of land, and have some kind of plan to use tunnels underneath walkways (which would be awsome) to accomodate a roller coaster. Unless of course it is a kiddy coaster, or a flat ride. Which I highly doubt because they just added one last year.

If they are rumored to remove White Water Landing, when would that be closed for the season?? Because in the past they have told us to ride a ride that was being taken out and announced that to us.. Just something to think about that, or they wont tell us.. but who knows!!!

LIEK OMG HE KNOWZ WHUT IT 1S OMG ROFL

My $.02 -

The main point of this clearly scripted/planted/possibly fake blueprint thing was to generate buzz. Well, I believe it has done what it was supposed to, has it not?

Also, I'm not sure if Cedar Point would go down and use the exact same marketing ploy that another park did. Just seems kind of low and... whatever.

Fury - those photoshopped images are really cool. Maybe when it does turn out to be something, we'll look back at those and say "hey... he was right

2010 - Season pass holder.

If you look at the picture that is closest up, you can see that this is just the bottom lefthand corner of a bigger drawing, because you can see around the edges that it has been torn. The fine print near the border might also be a hint. All I can read is "property of Cedar Fair, L.P. This shall not be distributed..."
