I couldn't find any good pics of the Primeval Whirl's station, but would Cedar Point perhaps load two at once like Dragser?

Dragster uses dual loading mostly because the individual trains carry fewer people, but the time to load a train is limited from below by the time it takes a pair of guests to get seated. With dual loading, they can effectively "lengthen" the train, but "halve" the launch interval for the "long" trains. Because interval is so short compared to load time, this makes sense.

Primeval whirl is a different beast. A single revercrhon spinning mouse can only push something like 900 per hour, and that's with separate load/unload already. So, to capacity closer to what Disney needed for the park (which had almost nothing in it already), the "ride" at AK is actually two completely separate coasters, placed station-to-station, with a single building housing both stations.

But, if you ignore the details, the flying super saturator and the reverchron are pretty similar---four person cars, standard lifts, moderate cycle/interval times. I think the big difference is that the mice have separate load/unload. (And, the Saturator may be able to do separate ones as well, but the Carowinds version doesn't do this.)

I can't see CP putting in a coaster that does only 600 PPH, unless it is part of a much larger package (like Woodstock Express as a part of Camp Snoopy.) I suppose of separate load/unload got a Saturator up to 900, that might be okay, but I don't remember whether load/unload was the bottleneck at Carowinds. If it isn't, then 600 PPH is the best you can do without changing the blocking (and hence the interval) on the ride.

That probably means that Tony/Tyler know what's coming for 06.

I doubt that Tony & Tyler know exactly what the plans are next year. I believe they would be told enough to know what NOT to say on the blog. Cedar Point has been known to keep this things pretty well under wraps... with the exception of the Lemon Chill Guy of coarse...

Ok, I'm sorry if I sound really dumb here, but where did the whole "Lemon Chill Guy" thing come from? I understand the concept, just would like to know the history.

Maybe Tony and Tyler do know what is, but someone from Cedar Point Management tell them what to say. They may have someone with them giving them the info as they type.

I think that it'd be pointless to have them doing the blogs if they were just handed what to type. It's a part of the payroll they dont need to utilize, if you know what I mean - 2 people in the chain.

It is their job to get handed a piece of info and turn it into buzz and get the word out about that piece of info.

Hey at least someone understands that. I thought everyone thought T&T were planning, construction and maintenance.

It is their job to get handed a piece of info and turn it into buzz and get the word out about that piece of info.

I want that job.

I wish they'd just fricken tell us what the new roller coaster's gonna be next year! God!

August 12th, 2005- Eminem and Lil Jon concert at Comerica Park.....I was right at the stage! 50 Cent sprayed water on me, Eminem was an inch away from touching me, and when the concert was over I walked outside and met Lil Jon's Eastside Boyz!

Maybe it will be a Rollercoaster for only Fat People. Since larger guests can't ride the Force. :D :D

If they tell you today or on Christmas day, you still aren't riding it (if "it" is a ride or coaster) until May 2006.

Dang it! Did I forget to put my coffee filter all the way into the trash again today? Remind me to yell at Tony and Tyler for digging through the trash. Sorry for all of the incovience I caused everyone.

Dick *** Edited 9/11/2005 7:38:36 PM UTC by Fastball84***

I think it's more of a case of:
Sorry everybody, my nephew made these up in his CADD class. I threw them away after I accidentally spilled my drink on it and after it accidentally dropped into the constructi URRR!! I mean normal, non 2006 construction dirt pile that's behind MF!!
Sincerely,
Dick

:)lol

A few people I've talked to in person have said they think that Town Hall Museum is going to go the way of the Jumbo Jet.

It isn't. Here's why. You remember the Coaster Dynamix Raptor model that Brad Sherman built? Maintenance is building a table for it this fall for it to find its home in Town Hall.

If the museum wasn't going to be there anymore they wouldn't be working on a home for the model... and Brad probably wouldn't have glue all over his hands.

Anybody else notice that the background of the "banner" for the blog (like as you see it when it sometimes shows up on the cedarpoint.com homepage) is the blueprint for Dragster? It shows the station and the launch area.

Just thought it was an interesting find. Goes to show that we are right in knowing what the purpose of the blog really is.

"Let's Ride!" ~ Nicholas Cage from Gone in 60 Seconds

You guys are so stuck on the thought that this is a rip-off of Holiday World that you can't understand that perhaps an amusement park blog can actually fill a variety of roles.

Since they started, they've covered the ice show, gone behind-the-scenes on four rides, given an in-depth look at HalloWeekends preparation, in addition to several other entries. But now that a couple of entries have teased next year's new attraction, you're all like, "I KNEW it!"

All the other stuff was just a cover? The blog is going away after the big reveal?
