Tony/Tyler Teasing Us Again...

Seriously, the blog is serving the purpose the park wants to serve, I think; They are appealing to people of different ages and different interests. They are not catering specifically to a/the new attraction, nor are the only talking about halloween attractions. They are trying to get the park's image out to the public through different exposure points.

I think the blogs "reason for being" are several. Whatever they may be, I like the thing. It's informative, entertaining and just plain fun.

I agree with Mr. Scott. Although I certainly think they're using the blog as a primary tool to create buzz about 2006, I don't think that is the blog's main purpose. The main purpose is simply to provide interesting, informative and fun perspectives to the park that the average person doesn't see or know about. I really enjoy it.

The Blog is by far the best thing on the CP website. The behind the scenes ride coverage and Halloweekends coverage alone are amazing. I'm looking forward to more Halloweekend coverage and could care less if they use it to unveil a new ride.

We'll miss you MrScott and Pete

Walt you are right it's not just for the new ride........ Really it's just one big advertisement for many things.

Personally, I think the best and most interesting entries are the behind-the-scenes stuff. Learning all the things it takes to get a ride goin' in the morning and all the routine maintenance really makes you appreciate how much is really going on at CP.

Now they just need to friggin' tell us what we really wanna know already... GOSH!!!

The purpose of the blog is simple: To give people who are not obsessed with Cedar Point a reason to go back to the website on a regular basis.

Isn't that obvious?

--Dave Althoff, Jr.

But we all know that those who are obsessed have a big reason to go onto the site... webcams. ;)

By the way I hope Cedar Point adds a Third Webcam again somewhere. Maybe on top of MaXair, I would prefer one pointing at Millennium Force part of the midway looking on at the hill.

I liked the webcam on top of Dragster... it let me see how crowded the parking lot was... helped me firgure out about heading to the park for some quick after work fun.

Any idea when they might post again?

I wonder if they'll stay on this line of conversation or divert it for a post or two and then come back after another "investigation".

"buzz" has been achieved...its time to reveal the plans!

They'll probably string us along for quite a while... until the announcement in (?) Nov/Dec.

I cannot believe I just read a whole lot about nothing.

It's plainly obvious the sheet was planted. It is plainly obvious this is not a whole drawing. It's plainly obvious everyone and their brother is now a CAD operator, engineer, plan reader and knows exactly what that drawing is.

Unless a company is ISO certified or QS 9000 there is not a standard size for plans and drawings. You would also be surprised at how small you can compress an image and make it fit on a sheet of 8.5" x 11"

I am really sorry but it is really quite hilarious to read this thread. Everyone with a CAD class from freshmen year in high school is now a pro!

Apparently you need to use your first initial and not a first name in order to be permitted to read prints. I'm sorry the rest of us don't qualify for being able to interpret the pictures that are on the website.

...And then proceeded to write a whole lot more about nothing.

And not all of us rely on CAD classes from high school. Some of us actually do know what we're talking about and have the ability to filter out those who don't. An ability you obviously do not have.

Easy killer,

Since it is ok to assume by what I wrote that I do not have the required skills to read and understand drawings, then it must be ok for me to assume you are whacked out on some wicked street drug!

I was stating that these pictures are being read into a little too deep. Everyone must be an expert from the posts I read.

But why attack me? Could'nt you spread this out a little? I know I am not the first to make such statements.

F.Y.I. I have a mechanical engineering degree and an Electrical from U of M. I am currently employed by an Automation company in Automation Alley in Detroit. So yes, I am qualified to read prints. But I will not try to read a possible fictitious sheet of paper thats not even legible. I do appreciate those that photo chopped it and tried to work in their own visions.

But arguing over paper size is just way out.

*** Edited 9/13/2005 6:04:53 PM UTC by J. Robert***

How come nobody is arguing that the paper size is A4? Let's get standard, people.

No one understands the metric system.

210mm x 297 mm

It's all about the engrish system.

J. Robert:

I never questioned your ability to read drawings. Re-read my post.

What I was questioning was your ability to skip over the inconsequential posts where people were arguing over such silliness as the size of the paper and what-not.

Also, I was not attacking you. I was poking fun at the way you were commenting on how silly the argument was and then continuing the very same argument yourself - thats all. Don't take it personally.

Congratulations on your degrees. Now, if you ever feel like getting a real engineering degree, go on up to Michigan Tech... and good luck to you.

Just kidding - UoM is a fine school. ;)
