Well they did say... Now they have to find Monty Jasper.... so theres a very good chance it is a ride of some sorts.
x3ro, remember that Mr. Jasper handles all things related to construction and maintenance. If there is a pothole in the midway or a ceiling that leaks, it all falls under his jurisdiction.

Yea I know. My train of thought is... why would they take they time to find Monty and talk to him if it was not a ride of some kind.
Maybe they're just trying to create a buzz, and get people to 'stay tuned'. You know, like how news stations do? "Shark attacks.. could they happen in Lake Erie? Your family could be in danger at the beach and not even know it! Tune in at 11 to find out!" *** Edited 9/2/2005 10:36:32 AM UTC by bholcomb***
FOX 8 in Cleveland loves to do that. :) They'll tease something for 59 minutes and then literally do a 20 second story right before they sign off.
From Bruce Almighty:
"Is your child in dire jeopardy? Find out tonight, after the game!"
I think this is the case in most cities...

They also have a flyer, but that's not stopping hopes for either.
Oh, and djDaemon, that's from Bruce Almighty. ;)
Yeah, just about all stations do that. I don't respect the news at all. Nothing makes me laugh more than to see O&A pests pull off assaults on the media. I don't like being scared into watching the news, which is all they do nowadays.
As for the floorless/flyer... I still don't buy the fact that they 'wont add a floorless because there's one at Geauga Lake'. I could see them making it a lot different, but I just can't see them NOT adding one because of that. Especially since a good portion of their attendance is from Michigan, and I doubt there's very many people outside of those that post on these boards that have ever been to Geauga Lake. I've been once, and that was back in August of 03 when it was still Worlds of Adventure. I wanted to go this year, but with gas being 3.50 a gallon, I doubt I'll make it over there.

I dont understand the whole "they wont build one because so and so already has one"
If this was the case they wouldnt ever build anything. Geauga Lake has a wood coaster so cedar point wont build one. Geauga Lake has a sit-down looper so Cedar Point wont build one. Cedar Point has a hyper so Geauga Lake wont build one ect.....
Just because GL has Dominator doesnt mean that CP cant build one that is completly different from GL's. Dominator is nothing like Medusa for example.
Personaly I dont see a floorless coaster as a ride gimmick like a stand up or inverted is. I remember similar conversations before the Raptor was built that they would never do an inverted because they already have a coaster that hangs below the track. Now they have three!
I have no clue what they are building, if anything, but I do know no matter what it is it will be good. It might be something that none of us has even considered possible.
Sorry for ranting...lol...im having a bad week.

Gas is getting ridiculous, up to $1.35 per LITRE! It goes up 5-10 cents a day, 2 weeks ago it was around $0.81 for a litre. With this crazy daily increase, I can see attendance dropping.
We'll miss you MrScott and Pete
The gas over here in Indiana is through the roof compared to Ohio. Where I live it was $3.39 last night, but in Ohio its under $3! Absolutely crazy. Gas prices are what may cancel my Labor Day weekend trip.

Three things you need to fix anything in the universe: duct tape, WD-40, and a hammer. Duct tape if it moves and it shouldn't, WD-40 if it doesn't move and should, and the hammer as the last resort.
Not really, I think a lot of people are probably still going to the park because parents probably promised their family that they would take them to Cedar Point so they can't let them down. And with the season winding down as late as it is, the attendance won't matter as much. They are probably concentrating on 2006 after the labor Day weekend. I expect the Senior Discounts to return next year, maybe not $9.95 like it was, but maybe $12.95 or something like that. Also is there admission for Kids or do they have to pay the FunDay Ticket Price? That's something I can see Cedar Point doing as well is lowering the General Admission with the price of Gas going up. Maybe at least $39 bucks. What I'd like to see them do is get rid of the admission for Soak City and make it 2 parks for one price like Geauga Lake does. I think you would attract a lot of guests to the park.
I don't think that gas prices won't have a substantial effect on CP attendance over this weekend, since a large portion of them are from nearby areas, like Detroit. The increased prices in gas would cost less than $10 more for most, for the whole trip.
As for reduced ticket prices, one thing to remember is that higher gas prices mean anything transported to CP will cost more, hurting their bottom line somewhat. I don't believe we'll see any reduction beyond a couple bucks, if any.

The whole state of Michigan is booming, Mr Scott! didn't you know? That governor we have is making things just take off like rocketships....
I know I have already cancelled a couple trips to the point due to gas prices, and can see myself cancelling more. In fact, I may only make it twice throughout all of the bonus and hallo-weekends.
The Gov we have hasn't even figured out how to have a wart removed, let alone how to make things better.

Mayor, Lighthouse Point
Well our Govener is Ohio is in trouble and about to be Impeached for some reason. Someone who is from Ohio help me out.
Was that the governer or the mayor or Akron? I know one of them is in trouble for excepting thousands of illegal gifts from people that he shouldn't have and not recording them (its a problem because it could be construed as bribery).
