Things that drive me crazy @ CP:

Jeff's avatar
Oh yes... someone hinted at one of the trends I can't stand:

ATTENTION: If you like to wear a visor backwards and upside down, you are a complete tool. You look like an idiot and a follower because anyone with a shred of common sense would realize that you have completely undermined the purpose of the garment. What's worse is you often appear in packs of people all doing the same thing, further establishing your lack of identity.

Along these lines, wearing huge pants when it's 90 or hotter outside is borderline insanity. I'll never forget what the former lead singer of Lords of Acid said at a show a few years ago... "Why do you Americans wear such huge clothes? That's not sexy!"

And now, back to your regularly scheduled thread...

Another peeve would be people who stand to close in line. You don't need to be 2ft behind me breathing down my neck. I have actually had people doing this to me and they sneeze right on my neck (cover your mouth at least!!). This has happened to me this year in the MF line and a few years ago in the Magnum line. These people need to back off. They are not going to get on the ride any quicker by breathing down peoples necks! Its amazing what a lack of common courtesy exists sometimes in line at CP or any other park.
Psychotic ride operators on Calypso who think it's funny to spin the car units alone?

Actually, last time I went to CP, they did that for a long time. It was really late at night and for some reason the people that I was with thought it strangely hilarious that we could no longer walk in a straight line. Although, these were the same people that were flirting with the ride operator. But that shows that at least a few people like it that way. *** This post was edited by Jmstuckman on 8/12/2000. ***
One thing that gets to me is people with carriages. I love children; God above bless them and their parents to death, but the people there with carriages think that they can simply walk wherever they feel like it! I had been nearly knocked over numerous times by these people, and it just annoys the sh*t out of me. That and the lines. Cedar Point wouldn't be Cedar Point if there wasen't any lines and people pushing carriages around.
I hate people who think its "fun" to have a sing a long in line. BO people. As a 14 year old guy, I don't mind the bikinis, but the overweighters, whew. I'm sorry eyes. Smoking kills me. I can't say eating, because when the line is long, I usually sneak a snack in early on in the line. Making out is just nasty, but arms around each other is fine (again, I do this when i'm with my special people)
The worst thing that I ever saw in line was this couple who were doing more things than just tongue excercises. His hand was up her shirt, and it was horrible. It seems like the CP Police are never there when you need them to be. Hmmm...that could be another pet peeve of mine...Police aren't around when they should be.

JRY, reminding people that Cedar Point is a family park... *** This post was edited by Jeff Young on 8/13/2000. ***
Mine include some others mentioned above and some extra:

-Pop Quiz: Which sounds better, a)THE Millenenium Force or b)Millennium Force. Ugh, by defult for most people its A. Come on people, proper grammer will tell you its B!
-Excessive making out. I know line waitng can be boring, but there has to be other things. THe other day at CP in the MF line I think, two hideous people were doing that, completley grossed me out
-People freaking out when a train stops on the lift. There moust be something in the mind that when seeing this thinks "Ohno, this ride is faulty, lets leave!" The lift stopping is for safety reasons people!
-OIP: Obessive Information People. I think of these people who downgrade every aspect of a coaster [in a way, all of RRC] until its a physics, techno mess. Waiting in line for MF w couple days ago, someone in line said [to obviously impress his party] "This ride isn't that fast or great" So why are you in line then?
...not a park for making families! :)

"Any day, is a great day, to ride a rollercoaster!"
another thing, i hate those stupid kids that are around my age (14-16) that wear what they now call "wife beaters". they are those tight white tank tops that you are supposed to wear UNDER your shirt. anyway, these kids are scronnier than me and they are wearing them trying to impress someone. you only wear those tank tops either under a shirt, or if you actually have some muscles, alone. and visors... I HATE VISORS. what happened to the top of them? and the other day, i was in line for villain......there were these group of kids about 12 or 13. they sure did look like the tough ones too. one kid was wearing BATTING GLOVES! why? does he need to hold on to the restraints better? does he have a game afterward? the group got out of line and i was like, "hey, do you have a big game you gotta get to?" he gave me a tough-guy look and said "f--- you". i just laughed at him.

3 Force rides:
3-2, 5-1, 9-2
I see what you are saying punk, im 14 and it does drive me nuts to see kids walking around that dont look "tough" but act it. First time i went this summer was for band, we was marching
and this dude screamed in my face "YOU SUCK!!" I just wanted to chase him down and beat him with my drumstick, but i just laughed.

Yea about the batting gloves some kid was wearing them when we went to Kennywood! We just asked him why he was wearing them and he said "I dont know" then he took them off. New fasion statement? I hope not.

I also hate people who stand in line and when they come to a pop machine they see the peoples faces and the roller coaster on the machines and think wouldnt they look good with gum on their face.

I also love kids, but what I really hate is parents waiting in line for a ride with little kids that they just let do whatever they feel. A couple days ago I saw a 3 or 4 year old swimming in a fountain with the parent two feet behind flirting with someone oblivious to their kid. *** This post was edited by Coaster guy2000 on 8/13/2000. ***
I know how you feel, waiting for Magnum, This little ANNOYING boy behind me, kept walking infront of me, touched my butt a few times, stepped on my feet, and pushed me!! I just wanted to beat in his face!! Oh well.

Letz see.....
I hate having to wait about 20 min. in a line just to get a small Pepsi because the guy in front of you keeps re-ordering enough food and drinks to feed the whole MF line!

Also- I think that wearing tank tops, tube tops (personally I hate these but they're OK for people who have the right figure), or halter tops are OK but please take into consideration how big your stomach guts out for the consideration of others

Another thing is the people who wear black pants and blakt t-shirts. I start to sweat just looking at them. Please Spare Me!

Don't you hate when the Mantis opporators lock the seats before you get into the train! and also on the mantis how the harness never locks tight enough so you're flung forward on the loops.

On the Gemini and the Blue Streak why do they push the lap bars down so tight? Do they have ANY respect for the people who want to get some innocent air time???? Last time on the Blue streak they pushed it down so tight that it HURT on the hills!

and that's just half of my complaints
But I really don't mind THAT much b/c I LOVE CP and as long as I go away a happy camper I really don't care about all of the above^^^^.......

By the wonderful ~Meredith Petro~ Who can't wait till she can drive so she can go to CP more than once a year~
People stapling your lap bar onto your seat in Gemini? Whenever I go they don't touch or check the lap bars. The last time I went one of the lap bars didn't lock, and they didn't notice because they weren't checking them! Another thing that annoys me is people trying to cross the midway while a marching band (like mine) is going through it, picking their way through the people. But it's also cool because we have permission to crash into anyone that gets too close to us hehehe!
My band has permission to do that to!!!hehehe!!;)

Speaking of Marching Bands @ CP, whenever my band goes to the Point, there are always those couple people who feel the need to make themselves look stupid by marching alongside the band. This really bothers me. I don't understand why people think that this is okay behavior. I got so mad last year that, while we were doing horn swings, I about hit someone in the head with my clarinet. If you are at Cedar Point, please, have a little respect for the bands that come to perform. All we are trying to do is provide a little entertainment for people who are in the midway. When people do this, it completely detracts from the way a group looks, and anyone who has ever been in a Marching Band realizes that the way you look is very important.

OK. I'll stop ranting about this now.

What would Cedar Point do if it didn't have those bands?

What really drives me crazy? The enthusiasm of this years Mean Streak crew. Or should I say the lack of enthusiasm?
