The Stupid Queue Wall

I agree the wall has to go for all of the reasons mentioned.

Though I have to disagree with the people who say Raptor's walls must go. Keep in mind that they hide an employee break area, and other employee buildings, besides who wants to see employees waiting in line to get their pay checks on Thursdays anyways.

or sitting in the break area drinking a 25 cent soda smoking a cigarette? :)

But I haven't even been in the line yet, and I think that wall has got to go. Someone mentioned above that the wall helped block the wind in the evening, which means in the heat of the summer that wall is going to block that same breeze that will keep everyone cool.

If any of you that got your pictures on the ride if you see when you are just launched they take you picture and if they did not have the wall there you would see people standing in the lines. So for the people that got a picture take a look at it. I think that is why they have the wall there is because it would block the people in line so you can't see it. Or it could be there for if someone that has something and it flew out it is a protectent so the people who are in the line don't get hurt. Look at your pictures and in the corner the before picture you will see the wall and if the wall was not there then all you would see is people. I think that is the resson they have the wall.

Yup...the wall has to go. It has to be the only aspect of the ride that I didn't like...and I *really* didn't like it.

"Will all those who expressed disappointment at the new ride please leave the park now"

Um, last time I checked, my on-ride photo taken at the brake run showed plenty of people in the background, come to think of it, both pics you could easily see everything in the background. This wall has got to go, I would love watching Dragster while waiting, heck, I sat for half an hour in the grandstands watching it!

I have to agree with everyone. I don't get it unless they are using it as some sort of sound barrier? I just assume see a fence there. I noticed several people standing on the rails and looking over to see what was going on with the ride. I like watching the trains launch so why not show it off?

When I was by the wall,I noticed the sound effects were very loud, perhaps it is to keep the speakers from blasting the line with the engine and revving sounds. It seems like the speakers are directly behind it,it was very loud near there.

It does make the last hour or so of line standing boring though too.

If this weekend the wall is still there I say we all e-mail CP telling them about all the people and you who hate the wall and why. If they get enough e-mails with bad comments about the wall they might think about taking the wall down. That's a start and hopefully they will take it down. You could also complain to customer service or whatever at the park. Just a thought because it sounds like you all hate the wall so much and I haven't been there so I haven't seen the wall.

I really don't think we need to email them about taking the wall down. They have better things to do. The right people read this and sometimes they do listen to our suggestions/ideas.

Just look at the starting prices on the vending machines this year! :) Let's just hope it doesn't take them a whole year to take the wall down though...

"Mr Kinzel,Tear down this wall!!""

Just couldn't resist... :)

CP Bound, I was also happy to see the prices remain at $2.50...although I still heard many people complaining about that price as well.

At the VERY least, they should separate the soda pop and water so they can reduce the cost of the bottled water. Seriously, we purchased TWO 12 packs of water for $5, it makes paying $2.50 for a bottle seem outrageous.

Actually, the bottled water is MORE EXPENSIVE than the cola when you're buying it wholesale...

Given the ease with which one can get ice water in the park, I don't get too worked up about the price. Then again, I also sometimes buy a bottle of water, so go figure.

I also say "Tear down this wall." But leave the fact signs, I think they are something the general public will enjoy.

That would be fine, Brian, if you didn't get thirsty standing in a long queue in high summer heat and humidity. You will not be allowed in line with a glass of ice water. At least we weren't last year for MF.

I think someone didn't know what they were doing. I think the only drinks that aren't allowed in the queues are alcoholic ones. The only thing we ask is that it is finished by the time you get to the platform, because no open food or drinks (including half full souvinere cups) are allowed on the platforms. I don't see why this would be any different at MF.

To make matters worse, this year, many foodstands simply don't have the ice water you got for free before, the typical response was: "we only have bottled water." So, either you walk somewhere else across the park, or pay 2:50 for a small bottle of water..

I was under the same impression as Matt. However, my real point is that I tell myself it doesn't matter because I won't need to buy it, and then pay the inflated price anyway. Not the most consistent behavior on my part.
Well, I thought this was about the wall but since we are talking water:

People today will pay $3-$4 for a coffee so why not expect them to pay $2.50 for a cold bottle of water? What is the funniest thing to me though is to see someone pay the $2.50 only to dump the water over their head.

As for the wall, I haven't seen it in person yet but I can see why people wouldn't want to spend the last part of their wait in line feeling "confined".
