^^To add to that, the platform they were using to install the chain has been removed since the 11th. So the chain is most definitely done. Plus, Tony posted a picture of some prox sensors from the top of the lift and you can see the chain in the track.

I'm not a fan of having to pay for lockers though. If I wanted one for the day not only would I have to pay about $15, but I would also have to keep returning to that location in the park if I wanted to take out/ put something in. I prefer to carry everything in a drawstring bag and put my stuff in bins.
At Dollywood they have bins on the loading platform between the airfares. It does make it a pain during the loading & unloading process. You have people reaching to put their thing in & retreaving their things out of bins.Their loading station is a little bit smaller then the Gatekeeper's station. I think the Gatekeeper's loading station will be better. The platform looks bigger which means you won't be bumping into others while getting on or off as in Dollywood's.
I would love GateKeeper to have the same lockers as universal in Orlando. The locker is free for your ride time, but you have to pay after the ride time has expired. You just go to a set of lockers scan your finger, and a locker opens up. When you get off the ride, you scan your finger to unlock your locker. I loved this setup, except for the Harry Potter ride. way to many people in a small space.

^That would be really nice to add that system. Maybe one day Cedar Fair will add those throughout the chain.

I see one word in that quote that would keep that system out of Cedar Point! ;)
On a serious note, that would be nice to have in the park!

Yes Dragsterwiz that would be nice but Cedar Fair has just put in new lovers last year. It would be a while before Cedar Fair ever change them out. But they can still put Universal Studio kind in the Gatekeeper's entrance plaza & the stroller & wheel chair rental place since they are redoing the whole front park area.

Rides that require you to stow your belongings in a locker, such as the roller coasters, Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey, and Men In Black: Alien Attack, offer lockers free of service for a limited period. The period of time the locker is free is dependant on the listed wait time, plus a few extra minutes. Attractions that do not require you to stow your items, like Dudley Do Right, actually charge you a fee based on how long you use the locker.

You know what would be really nice? Here's a hypothetical system.
-You get a keycard on a lanyard at a station at one of the lockers. You pay a small deposit on the keycard.
-This keycard can be used to lock any given locker in the park, but only one at a time.
-You put your stuff in a locker, lock it with your keycard and ride Millennium Force
-Get off the ride, and open your locker
-Find an empty locker at Dragster, store your stuff, swipe your card to lock.
Continue this throughout the day, using lockers where you need them.
At the end of the day, you can return the keycard to any of the locations to get your deposit back

^^Cedar Fair take note. I would buy one for a day. Very very good idea.

Even if it was a system in which, let's say, you put down a deposit of $10 and got to use the card, as you explained, throughout the day and then at the end of the day you got $5 of your deposit back. I would utilize this system and this way the park still makes money off of the deal.

The bins belong on the midway. As lockers.
So I should spend $8-10 on a souvenir soda and then a buck every time I ride something? Not to mention the inability to enjoy my drink while waiting in line.

How much does it cost to watch them?
Or do they just hold all your stuff while........ew.
Promoter of fog.
The software that operates those new lockers would not be hard to reprogram. I imagine they can do just about anything they want with it.
I'm with Jeff though, keep the bins out of the station and make people use a locker or carry less crap with them.
And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun
You know what would make a trip to Target more efficient? If all you morons would stop driving your personal vehicles and start using public transportation. I mean, c'mon, people! Do you really need a personal vehicle?

While not a bad idea, keep in mind that making lockers free to use would dramatically increase demand. As such, the park would need to install a lot more of them. Not exactly a brilliant business strategy.
Sure, free, ubiquitous locker availability would presumably entice guests to spend more money on stuff, but does that presumed increase offset enough of the installation & maintenance cost to make it a sound business decision?

We all have choices, my friend. Do you not ride Millennium Force?

Even better idea. Increase admission $3-$5 and make lockers free.
Then people will complain about the prices going up!
Slightly related note, because amusement park tickets are going to start being taxed, will the prices go up again?
