The station is going up!

The park really bringing their A-Game on GateKeeper!

That whole area of the park is completely transformed. Just incredible.

The sun shades look awesome

So, not going to lie, that looks SUPER NICE!, and clean, and I understand that some of the Q is going to be under the ride/tracks etc. but it looks like there is still not enough room for everyone to wait. What is the max that Que goig to be able to hold. This is going to be an hour + wait ride at times, so it's gotta hold a lot of people.

With a high capacity B&M like this one, the Que does not need to be as long as other coasters at Cedar Point. I bet the wait time is under an hour must of the time. Except maybe on Saturdays.

The beach queue area will hold a max time of 1 hour and 20 minutes. The ride will send out 1800 pph (people per hour). So....you're looking at the entire queue area holding about 2400 people. This was stated at today's tour. I'm thinking there might be an overflow onto the plaza at peak summer/Saturday times.

I'm surprised that with all of the room they have to work with they didn't make it larger just for those specific days. How does the Gatekeeper queue size compare to Raptors? It's kind of hard to tell.

It'll be about the same size. Raptors is a little larger because it only runs 2 trains

Raptor has always ran all 3 trains, unless for those really dead days.

Raptor always runs three trains unless weather doesn't permit it to do so.

John H. actually said during our Q&A that they didn't want to overbuild the queue. IMO, they seemed very comfortable with how many people it could hold given the capacity of the ride. They only think they will have overflow outside of the entrance in the first year.

Still wouldn't mind a gryphon statue, but I guess they don't want to be seen as being -too- similar to Dollywood. It looks good otherwise.

Pretty cool trip report guys. Did anyone happen to ask how fast lane will be incorporated with the que and also was any information offered up about when we can start processing season passes (dates) ? IMO I think the que's design is near perfection. If your gonna have an overflow at least you get to take in scenery surrounding you.

Did anyone take video of the the Q&A? I know that was done last year.

Either the split is way too early causing the line to slow down...

The only thing that slows down the line is trains dispatching less frequently (or partially empty). A split in the line isn't going to cause that.

I'm sorry for any confusion. I didn't mean less customers would be served, I meant that they would be moving slower. Once a line splits you advance at the rate it takes to fill your side only. If the line stays merged everyone advances at the rate it takes to fill both sides. Mr Freeze was my example, where 2 trains serve 1 track. Before it splits the line seems to move along fairly quickly, after the split it slows down, each side is essentially waiting for what amounts to single train operation. It's a perceived speed, granted, but in the psychology of queue building the idea is to keep customers moving, not let them go at a snail's pace. I can't stand waiting in a line that doesn't move as often, and in my opinion an early split or an uneven one is a bad idea. That's all I was trying to say.

The entrance plaza area looks fantastic, really. A real eye-catcher. Just the type of thing I was thinking of when a while back I was asking C.P. to please keep in mind they're an amusement park when designing public areas.

They said the Fast Lane and regular line entrance will be at the same point. When you enter the line, regular line will go to the left and fast lane will go to the right. They didn't get into details, but I would imagine the Fast Lane will merge with the regular line at the split where you choose which side you want to ride.

Anyone have a video of the tour?

How many people will the queue hold? I know you can't see the whole layout, but from the looks of things, it doesn't appear to be as large as the MF or TTD queue.

We talked about that at the top of this page.
