The Mysterious, possible footers

Not always ShoelessRider, I remember back in June 99 an employee saying to me "wait till you see the 300 ft monster there puting by the ferris wheel next year".

"Wheres the Callahan factory?!?!?"

VertiGo: VertiGone but not forgotten.

It's obviously not going to be taller than Millennium Force. I doubt that they would spend 25 MILLION on MF in 2000 and spend around the same amount in 2003 or 2004. I also don't see why they would need a coaster taller than MF already. SD2K is the only one taller than it... and by 8 feet only. Unless there is one that was built after SD2K that is taller. I haven't heard anything. And since Monty said he would be talking with us again in a couple years, then maybe a roller coaster isn't going in over there since he didn't do any diary things on VertiGo and that wasn't a major ride... then maybe something smaller than a roller coaster will be going in. We will just have to wait.

I'm not saying that it will happen, but they could easily build a coaster/ride taller than MF at a very small pricetag. Remember, this doesn't have to be an Intamin giga coaster, it could be a TA2K or one of several other coaster types. Or it could just be a really tall slingshot ride or something. It's basically impossible to tell right now.

It's probably not a restaurant, and its either one huge flat ride, or some type of coaster. I wouldnt be surprised if they stick to the every other year trend with coasters and put a flat ride in there.

Someday's it's just not worth chewing through the restrains.

Vertigo fall down go Boom within 1 year. Let'e talk BIG discount on new ride.

Good Point Mike.

S&S and CF had a VERY good relationship. I don't think S&S is going to let CF go as a customer very easily. What better way to keep them than to discount a TA2K? A really big one! S&S said themselves that the next working TA2K after the prototype (wich is now installed at a park somewhere) was going to be over 400ft. Discovery channel had one of those thrill ride specials, and interviewed S&S.

One thing is for sure, attendance of coaster enthusiasts will be up at the Point this summer with all this buzz... :)

I was in line for Wicked Twister and some people told me that a relative of theirs works in a high position at CP. They said he told them that "the new ride" in 2003 will be over 400 feet. My initial reaction was... riiiggghhhttt. They were like 50, so I didn't see them telling me a blatant lie, but I don't know if the info they got was honest or not. They also said it was suppose to intertwine with MF. Well... those are pretty big footers...

Yeah I know, I spelled Millennium wrong, so lay off! j/k

Ive got it, its a big paint factory so they can just paint the rides there self. Anyway I really have no clue. I was never in to just looking at footers Im more interested in when there is ride parts involved
Do you guys think the TA2K (just humoring this idea) would have already been planned?

I know that CP wouldn't have thrown something together this big in 5 months. So if S&S was building it, then they would have had it planned sometime in 2000.

With the capacity of both rides, and the visual aspect, I still think an Xcelerator type launch coaster would be the way to go. I was thinking that if they did go on the island, assuming this is actually a coaster, then they intertwine the tracks.

Personally, I wouldn't believe anything form someone's friend's uncle's daughter's gardener's gold fish babysitter's sister's 3rd cousin twice removed's travel agent's caddy's grandfather's WWII platoon leader's house contractor's supervisor's telemarketer's brother's best friend who works at Cedar Point as a sweep. But that's just me...:)

Snoopy Rocks! On Ice starts June 22--Do you think they'll let me drive the Zamboni machine?

I want to drive the Zamboni!

Until S&S gets capacity/uptime issues semi-ironed out at PKD.. I just can't see CP getting a TA2K.

They're for the new PointDome(tm) they're building over the park. More footers will start appearing soon around the property, then construction of the dome will begin after October. The dome should be finished by April and will be the world's tallest dome. This will enable the park to operate year-round at a comfortably constant 68 degrees with no wind and no bad weather to interfere with ride operation.

This is from the most reliable source in the park...the guy who fixes the Skee-Ball(tm) machines.

Jim

Thanks for the information! ;)

It seems we are starting to disband the rumor that it may still be a suprise 2002 attraction

Until this theory gets proved wrong, I am hoping for a Intamin Rocket coaster (or whatever they are called) that intertwines with Millennium Force. Other possibilities include a spinning mouse, ArrowBATic, or a flat ride of some sort. I would really like to know whats under that tarp.

I too, love speculation. :)

Speculation is fun! Isn't it?

I do believe we heard Mr. Jasper say something like, "I'll see you in a couple of years." If it's a 400+ footer, it may take some time. Yes, just speculation. What fun.
