The most important question of all this... soda

Theres also a Coke bottling plant in Bedford Ohio too, which is about 10 mins from the park.

All in all, nothing says I can't sit in my car or go out to my car and drink a nice refreshing Coke. I do that a lot at CP. :)

I find it hard to believe that Pepsi would give the bottles away for free. (but what do i know?) The bottles definately cost more to produce.

I'm just saying this because if i were CP and getting the bottles for free i would price them under a 20 oz fountain soda, not over. Simply because the overhead is SO much less.

In most contracts the kickbacks come on the BIBs.

Cedar Point does not pay a dime for any of the bottles in the various machines. Therefore, Cedar Point is making 100% profit of each bottle sold.

can't tell if that was a sarcastic "riiiiiiight" or not, but if it was, it is not "riiiiiiiiiight". Drew's statement is not entirely accurate but closer than you would think. Let's just say when Pepsi was $2.00 a bottle in '02, CP made a $1.98 profit.

Yeah, it's probably all in my head, but the coke tastes better in Atlanta! Must be knowing you're just miles from where it was made.

Actually, doesn't Coke make many different varieties of its original formula to appeal to the tastes of different countries? I think if you visit the "Coke Museum" (not sure exactly what it's called or where it's located), you can actually taste-test the different varieties of Coke. I'm not sure if there are any regional variations of the beverage sold in the United States, however if this was so, I would expect the Southern version to be sweeter in flavor (and thus even more syrupy than it already is ^_~ ).

Edit: "The World of Coca-Cola" http://www.woccatlanta.com/ which, interestingly enough, happens to be located in Atlanta, Georgia

Why would it be interesting that its located in Atlanta, Coke started there it is something that actually makes sense.

However, NE Ohio is one of the only areas of the country Pepsi out sells Coke, so why not sell what the locals prefer?

Heh, I didn't realize Coke started out in Atlanta. I'm from Michigan, and drink Pepsi, Faygo, and Jones Soda more often than I ever drink Coke. Now if the Point started having Jones vending machines... (yes, I know I'm dreaming).

The wife said she read somewhere that it was going to be Pepsi. I don't like Pepsi but I (and the whole family ) love Mountain Dew
Lee, you may have hit the nail on the head that it would make more sense for the southern version of coke to be more syrupy. If you've ever had tea in the south it's incredibly sweet, and it certainly doesn't take much to adjust how much syrup goes into the soda machine. Perhaps they just put a slightly higher ration of syrup to carbonated water through their fountain's in the South. Or, maybe it's just so darn hot all the time that coke seems more refreshing.
