The Best thing about Maverick.

I don't think that's very funny.

Blasphemy.

"Comic Book Guy" is the name you're looking for, aka Jeff Albertson (yeah, I had to look it up - I've long believed his one and only name was Comic Book Guy).

I dont think that its funny that you feel that you will be the only one thats not going to come back from the Death Star, but to each his own...

And to be Clear, I know the Death Star is from STAR WARS, Not STAR TREK.

Dont want to get into a dispute with a Trekie.....

I love Monkeys! I love Monkeys!

At least get it right....its TREKKIE.

^^ - His real name was probably mentioned once in an episode and every other 8 million times he's referred to as "Comic Book Guy".

I don't see any dispute, except the one you're trying to bring on.

No problem here, bro.

Okay, Chief.

In discussing a large selection of family rides at Cedar Point, I think they're slowly removing the family selection. White Water Landing was what I considered to be the best family ride in the park. Now it is gone. Dodge Em 1, another family ride, was removed to make way for Dragster. Swabinchen, however ya spell it, was removed for Dragster as well. The swan boats were also removed a couple years back. I don't care how low to the ground this ride may be. If I was a kid, I'd be scared to ride it. I also know there is no way I'll be dragging my parents on board. While I agree that Cedar Point still has a better selection of family rides than the majority of parks, they really have some work to do. For the past 7 years, Cedar Point has added nothing but thrill rides. In the process, they removed multiple family rides. Consider both Dragster and Maverick meant the removal of two family rides each. That is not even considering how they destroyed the experience on Paddlewheel Excursions. Common, Cedar Point!

Isn't Schwabinchen over by WT now? Am I imagining things? I know Chaos and Troika are over there. Hmmm...

Nope, Schwaboobies was where Chaos is today.

I go to one lousy amusement park auction today and I miss a Star Wars/Trekkie exchange... :)

Ha Ha! What Auction did you go to, and What kind of amusement park stuff did they have?

I love Monkeys! I love Monkeys!

I went to the Erieview auction in Geneva on the Lake, Ohio. That park closed for the last time just last month, and they were selling off everything but the land. I had this grandiose idea of picking up some sort of kiddy ride for my daughter and putting in our back yard. What I really had my eye on was the Hodges Hand Car ride. I was prepared to spend up to a grand on it, but it went for $8,500. Couldn't believe it.

Everything I bid on went for considerably more than I had in cash... except for Bumper Cars, which I bid $250 on and sold for $500. I would have bid it up, but they were old and in bad shape and, anyway, what am I going to do with some old bumper cars?

It was my first amusement park auction, and it was really very cool. I saw people from a lot of parks, like Conneaut Lake, Stricker's Grove, etc. I may go to the Wyandot Lake auction later this year.

^ chop them and turn them into furniture. The fronts would be ottomans or put together into a coffee table and the seats (once re-upholstered) would have been some pretty sweet chairs.

Were they apiece, or was it the whole set of cars that were sold as one?
