I'm surprised they haven't released a POV video yet. And I wonder if they are going to announce what the wall is for after the dive loop as well as what the queue line surprise is (unless the pandora station was the surprise). Unless they're just going to wait for people to find out themselves.

All those people are Lucky! Fudge!

See, in my opinion, there's nothing lucky about being in cold, rainy, windy, miserable weather. But, to each their own

It was actually a pretty nice for the first half of the afternoon.

One of the lucky ones here! Only a few rides, food stands and stores were open. After walking the park and looking at all the changes, we rode Millennium and Maverick--NO wait--and then the rains came. NUTS!

The areas around Valravn and the Bluestreak Midway are fenced off, but what we could see looks beautiful. Still lots of work to be done. Trucks and construction equipment were blocking a good view of the Bluestreak Midway but it looks like the ship part of the old pirate ride has been removed. The front of the building looked new and was being painted.

Shawn, there is a large, wood, construction fence around the Shoot The Rapids site. Hard to see over the fence but looks like parts of the ride a just lying there waiting to be removed.

Gotta think that Blue Streak ridership will be much higher this year due to its proximity to Valravn

Thanks Bluestreaker, but I'm trying to move on from Shoot the Rapids.

I will be anxious to hear what you all think of this ride once you actually get on it. I can only watch from here in Colorado. My impression of it from watching the testing is that it does not carry near enough speed through the elements, especially when it barely makes it out of the 270 degree roll and then again barely making it over the airtime hill.

A lot of that is probably a product of the temperature. It hasn't exactly been summer-like the last couple weeks in Ohio.

They may have had the soft wheels on which are a lot slower but smoother. Gatekeeper used them during testing and imo should be used for normal operation because it has a big rattle.

SV ruins all other rides.

The apparent speed when watching is probably an optical illusion because of the size of the vehicle. I saw it run in person yesterday and it carried plenty of speed into the final brake run and I think the speed will give a nice pop of airtime on the hill before the brake run. The ride is also fairly quiet considering that the track and supports are not filled with sand. Not as quiet as Gatekeeper, but pleasantly free from the loud roar that Raptor has.

I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.

That part has been gone for years.

Has anyone seen Wicked Twister test yet? I haven't, obviously that means next to nothing and we have plenty of time but hopefully it opens on time this year since it had issues last season.

IMO Valravn doesn't look slow at all. The final inversion was designed to be drawn out, and the airtime hill looks good. I wouldn't worry about it.

coasterbillM, WT was testing a couple weeks ago. It didn't test for long, like they have with Raptor and Gatekeeper, but it did run at least a few cycles while it was on that cam.

Viewing the ride from a video will never be the same as in real life.

As for the the wheels. During Gatekeeper's Media Day indeed it was running with slow wheels.

I was wondering this too. I also havent saw Maxair testing. We are making it to CP for the first time in 4 years on the 21st (without our 3 year old!) with a couple friends who have never been. I dont want to miss out on any rides lol

Edit: I meant in regards to WT. I didnt realize it would throw my reply down to the bottom, even if I hit reply on the same post.
