Test Runs

Have test runs started yet? If not, when should they? The weather's been nice and its almost the end of March. I heard somewhere that a ride needs a certain number of test runs before it can open. Anyone know the number? I'm sure CP will pull through and have it open on the 4th, but just wondering.

No they have not started the test runs yet.

I have no idea when the tests are going to start, and I haven't heard of anyone that knows when.

I'll leave the # of tests to someone else.

Its not going anywhere, either.

To my limited knowledge....the attach a cable to the train and use a crane to "winch" it through the course...or "pull-through" the course; hence the name pull-thorugh.

They might have just put the train there so it would make a good picture, with the tower in the backround. If the train was all the way back at the station, the picture would probably not be anything great to look at, the angle would be completely different. That's my theory anyways.

I'm not quizing you, I have NO IDEA and was asking. As for the pull through, wouldn't they want to have a shortened 3 car train to do it easier? One front car, one middle car, and one back car?

ok
here's a question...on a pull through what happens when they pull it to the top......ummmm I imagine everyone going OHH **** and the train speeds down the hilll and the brakes arent activated ;)

I don't think they just drop it down the hill on the pull through, but even if they did the brakes are always "activated" because of the built in magnets on the trains.

Read around... they are NOT doing a full pull-through (as in up and down the top hat). They are just doing a partial pull-through (on the launch and brake runs), if anything.

On Xcellerator they actually had "monkey men" climb the tower and wich the train up and then down the tophat (there are pictures somewhere, but I don't have the link). I hadn't heard that they wouldn't do a full pullthrough, but if they do they definately won't just drop it.

Disclaimer: Of course, I'm not them so all of this is just educated speculation based on past events. I'm not gonna pretend to read minds or predict the future :)

Majin is right about them not doing a full pull-through. Monty said it himself:

"Testing will include a partial pull-through, and sending a train with a clearance template attached."

So i'm guessing that when we see a train with that clearance template on it, then we can say that testing has begun.

Testing will have to start really soon. Mr. Decker said that they were going to have to run it Over a month before opening day. So maybe this week we'll see them testing!

Maybe? If they're sticking to the "over a month" statement, and 1 day over is enough to be over a month, they have 2 days. the 4th is exactlty a month.
