I agree, topthrilldragster4lyf. I like the "Guess what this is?" cam; it's cute! I think this coaster may be bigger than what some of us speculate. It has more track than the corkscrew already! LOL Then again, the corkscrew is only about a minute and a half. ;-)

Today I noticed another wallpaper on extra point. I don't know how long it has been there but it had to have been put on today or yesterday.
I saw it, too. They need to put a wide-shot on there...

I just want to say something to everyone who thinks CP is not building hype. They are. You may think it's only coaster enthusiasts who look at the blog, but lots of people do, they also look at webcams on the site too. Maybe CP isn't blowing it all out of proportion, but people are talking about this new ride. Look at the amount of people on the train staring at the new ride as it goes by. That is not all enthusiasts, those are people thinking, "Hmm this looks pretty cool, we should come back next summer and try it out." Maybe they don't discuss it constantly like we do or even talk about it everyday, but it is there in the back of their minds. I would guess most of the people who visited the park after track started to go up got a look at it. Now perhaps they didn't run screaming for everyone to check out the new transition or the airtime hill, but they at least saw it and will remember it when they consider next summer's vacation. Heck they may even passively read a forum or two, not posting anything just to learn a bit more.
I agree.

I agree the GP will notice, however all the GP I know that go to the park were like "look they're building something" then went on with their day.
I just remembered that I'm absent minded
Wait, I mean I've lost my mind, I can't find it
Enfynet, that's sort of the point. Almost like subliminal advertising, they don't conciously think about it, but that new construction is there somewhere. Just about anybody would be interested in a new coaster with bright red track, which is an attnetion getter. I mean they come to CP to ride roller coasters, it would be assumed that they have at least a passive interest in something new to ride.
True halltd, but for the people who don't ride coasters anyway, who cares if they care. Even if CP made 50 commercials and had them on everywhere all the time, they still wouldn't care.
^^^That applies only to people who will actually ride the roller coasters.
Other than the Power Tower, that's all I ride is coasters...and now The Skyhawk. Nothing else interests me. My first ride when I get there is a coaster....

So "passive interest" and thoughts "in the back of their minds" equates to hype? Give me a break.
Your main argument is based on the fact that people can see the construction? What would you suggest CP do? Cover the entire site in a giant circus tent?

I agree.
Everyone I know who frequents Cedar Point- goes for the coasters. They don't really ride anything else.
I think you and I see eye-to-eye on this. It's fun to see it all come together, don't you agree?
"THE Top Thrill Dragster...THE Millennium Force...THE Wicked Twister...THE Magnum! How do you like those apples?!?!?"
^No, not really.
Everyone I know who goes to Cedar Point often doesn't just go to ride roller coasters. There happens to be a rather large arcade and some fun chance/skill games on the midway. There's also water rides, spinning rides, drop rides, swing rides, and bumper cars, among many other things. I like to have a taste of everything, and I suspect I'm not the only one.
Hail to the Victors
i'm with ramboozle on this one.
When I go to Cedar Point I do ride the coasters, but ride ride just as much or more thrill rides. MaXair can put out just as much power as a coaster. And the water rides are awsome. when I go their, when I see a ride that looks fun i ride it. And yes that includes the smaller ones like scrambler and matterhorn.
Cedar Point wouldn't bring in the amount of people that it does without the coasters. Sure, the flats and water rides are great "fillers" but the main sell of the park are its coasters...how many people do you think would travel longer than a couple of hours for a park full of Scramblers and MaXairs? I'm not saying that I only ride the coasters, but if they weren't there, I probably wouldn't drive the four hours to get there. I only live a couple hours away from Michigan's Adventure and they have those smaller "carnie" rides as well, but I wouldn't plan a trip there like I would Cedar Point, and that is because of the world class rollercoasters.
