If Cedar Point only had the coasters, you wouldn't see the families coming either. Its not one or the other. Its the combination of them all. That's why you see CP investing heavily in resorts, coasters AND other rides/attractions. Even the landscaping and cleanliness of the park plays a huge role in the draw.
Regardless, when you say "everyone I know" you are making a generalization. Everyone you know can't be that much different from everyone else, now can they?
Cedar Point is no different from most other amusement parks when you say that the roller coasters are the highlight of the park. Also think about this, before it was America's Roller Coast, it was the Amazement Park, and before that it was Queen of American Watering Places.
Hail to the Victors
I cant believe there are still people who wish CP had 100 coasters and nothing else. And i mean nothing no scenery, food or other rides.
Well said dj im an example i personally dont enjoy coasters but CP is still enjoyable in many other ways.

Your main argument is based on the fact that people can see the construction? What would you suggest CP do? Cover the entire site in a giant circus tent?

Now that I would like to see for the laugh factor!!
Look at things this way. Just because I don't like everything Meijer sells, that doesn't mean that I think they shouldn't carry them. If something brings people into the store and thus makes them money, by all means, I don't mind it one bit.
The same can be said for Cedar Point. Okay, maybe I don't like every single ride that they have. I don't particularly like arcades and such, but I don't speak with disgust against them. If I want to ride on the coasters, I do. If I wanna go on something like SRF, MaxAir, or Skyhawk, I do. I don't dis things because I do not like them. It's just not right...
Or so this is the way I look at things. Hey, who knows, maybe I'll have sparked something with this. Yeah, get a life, I know :)
