Out of curiosity, and since we are on the subject, does anyone have any idea how the line for Steel Vengeance might be on a less crowded day? I go on June 10th, and a calendar that I've used in the past that seems to be accurate (http://www.isitpacked.com/crowd-calendars/cedar-point/) says that the park itself shouldn't be too bad. My dad, who also went on similar Sundays the past couple years (for the 5k weekend) says that this particular date is a smaller amount of people. I just don't know if that means that all of these people will be in line for Steel Vengeance or not, if that makes sense. Has anyone noticed a pattern in the past with new rides and wait times on less crowded days?
I was there for race weekend last year, and will be again this year. That Sunday was busier than Friday, but less so than Saturday. The longest we waited for anything was about 90 minutes for Valravn in early afternoon. That of course was the newest ride at the time. Everything else was probably under an hour even at peak times.
Bobb-Z I think they were handing boarding passes out at the Steel Vengeance queue entrance but I’m not sure. If so that kinda sucks because if you’re a runner you can haul butt back there and snag a boarding pass then kinda linger a bit and possibly grab a second one. If they were smart they would hand them out at various locations (hotel desk for guests, just inside entrance gates, SV queue, etc). Maybe make it a bracelet that has to be intact so everyone gets ONE pass. Or break out the old Freeway stamps.
Tony Clark, what say you?

New blog entry on SV. Sounds like boarding passes are here to stay, for the short term.

Skyrush struggles to be a "good" ride in my book because it's incredible uncomfortable. Fury is above average. Haven't done El Toro.
My opinion of SV may elevate with a back seat ride. I rode front my first ride. Have a hard time it will exceed the pure "fun" factor that hold MF and Beast as my top rides. I'm figuring it will end up around Maverick with the pacing and intensity promised.

I just called to see if they are adjusting the cancellation policy for reservations in the wake of the latest post from Tony. I was told they are currently staying with the 72 hr cancellation policy. Have reservations for a week from Sunday through Thursday, will cancel if one train operations is still in effect.
We drive 8 HRs from Wisconsin 3-5 times a year. And I have no desire to go to this May if the new ride isn’t up and the staffing is still sub par.

I feel like this incident really crapped on the overall excitement for the ride. I may be wrong because I’m just speaking for myself, but what does everyone else think?
It's certainly a disappointment, but I'm still excited for the ride because I rode a couple times and I want more! Just gonna have to be realistic and realize that I'm going to get at most one ride per day and I'm going to have to get there early in order to get it.
Now I'm curious/concerned what "adjustments" will be made. How much can they really do while the ride is operating? Will they run with one train for a couple weeks and then close completely for days/weeks once the trim brakes or more straight track for the end of the ride show up? Will we see the other two trains taken offsite and modified somehow and then the running train taken away when those return? If it was a mechanical failure, I'm more fearful for what they'll do to potentially neuter the ride than if it was a programming problem (which Dave said odds of that being the case are almost none and I believe him).
Crossing my fingers that whatever needs to be done is simple and quick and the ride will still be awesome and running at full capacity really soon...

I'll be hopefully taking a spin on it soon. I know it will already exceed Magnum and Millennium for me personally. I'm just wondering the comparison to (in terms of best coaster anybody has ever been on) Fury, El Toro and SkyRush as those 3 are my favorites currently
I've been on Skyrush and Fury. SV beats them everyday of the week, twice on sundays.
I pray they don’t change anything about the layout or overall speed. My excitement will probably come back when I’m in line again. I don’t know if I’ll ride it until it’s operating normally again though.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong. My understanding was that they were only running two of the three trains when this accident happened. So, either those two trains both were damaged more than we thought or the blocking system is so screwed up that they don't feel comfortable running two trains.
