And they're in their 20's.

Like I said, see you in 2016.

And they didn't really steal anything, maybe mild fraud. It really is just some kids trying to save a few bucks no big deal.

ilikemotorcycles, can you send me your credit card number? I'm just going to use it to get lunch at Wendy's so that I can save a few bucks.... it's no big deal.

Ilikemotorcycles send me your credit card info, I just want to buy a couple of fast lane plus passes to share with my friends. It'll just save us some money for you to pay, thanks!

Are you guys telling me none of you would have done this in your 20s? I have a feeling most of you sneak food into the movie theatre to this day.

Why would you sneak food into the movies? The popcorn is the best part.

Now, sneaking *booze* into the movie theater? That's a whole different ballgame.

There is no criminal offense for sneaking food into a movie theater. It's against store policy; however, I don't think someone would be arrested for this.

Stealing $190 of service is a misdemeanor under current law.

Shouldnt be any different than of they were caught trying to steal a $65 hoodie from a giftshop. (If they dont do all that for physical theft they should)

Good Point....stealing is stealing.

I am curious about the scanning. Is that new this year? I do not remember them doing that before.

I assume the scanning is to prevent a situation where someone tries to re-use a wristband on multiple days.

I don't steal things, then or now.

Right, I also have never stolen anything. You don't get a free pass for theft just because you are in your 20s. People in their 20s should know better and take self responsibility anyway, they are not 5 year olds anymore.

I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.

They were not scanning when I was at the park a week and a half ago.

How about your season pass, ilovemotorcycles? Will you send me your season pass so I can get in for free? I'll send it back in a month or two.

Your "Kazaa - Showtunes!" folder on your desktop says otherwise. :)

When did they start scanning?

They weren't scanning on Saturday (7/18).

When you visit CP, visit my Mill, est. 1835

Well, this incident happened yesterday afternoon... SO, I'd guess... Yesterday afternoon.

While I agree that what these individuals did is wrong saying it is stealing to me is not correct at all. You cannot compare this situation to one of someone stealing an equal amount of merchandise as there was actually nothing taken that was not paid for. If the original statement is true, and they did indeed purchase 2 fast lane passes then there was no theft involved. Sure, they violated a policy that the fast lane passes are only valid for one person but the original passes were paid for.

By giving the wristband from person to person they were still only able to have 2 people on any given ride at any time while the other 2 were not able to utilize any fast lane during that time. 2 fast lanes were purchased, and only 2 were being used at any given time, therefore no one lost out on anything and that includes both Cedar Point, and anyone else who purchased a Fast Lane that day.

Violation of CP policy - absolutely, criminal stealing - absolutely not. I'd put line jumping as a way more serious offense than this one.

I will agree with that 100% ^

1999: First visit
Halloweekends- Harvest Fear, Tombstone Terror-Tory
Ride Operations- Professor Delbert’s Frontier Fling

They bought access Fast Lane Plus for two individuals.

By swapping wristbands, they stole access to Fast Lane Plus for two individuals.

They paid for unlimited access for two people.

They used it for two people who did not pay for it.

One wristband, one person. To do otherwise is theft of services.

Stealing.

Taking what is not yours without agreed-upon payment.

If you went to work for a new employer for two weeks before your first paycheck, which never came, would that not count as theft (stealing) the services of your time?
