The POV vids show an acurate view of what you see, but riding is very different, in the respect that your other sesnses are being stimulated as well.

I am terrified of high places, but have conquered that fear riding coasters. I still don't look around very much while on the lift hill. I tend to focus on the track in front of me. It works for me!

IMO, TTD is overrated. Sure, it's a great ride and provides a huge thrill, but it's way too short and over before you can process what you just did. Should you ride it? Sure!

PS: The first time I rode MF back in 2000, I shook for 20 minutes, after getting off the ride. Went directly into Red Garter Saloon, got a beer and proceeded to spill some of it all over my chest trying to drink it with 2 hands. I was shaking that badly!

At CP, the coasters ARE the theming. They have proven time and time again that theming is something that is just not that important to them. Take a trip to Disney, if you want theming. Take a trip to CP, if you want amusement/thrills.

I remember there being more going on in DT its first year. There were the few robots, and the looping sound effects, the conveyor-thingy. And I can't remember what else...

But, yeah, you'd think they would keep that stuff going. I would guess that PWE and the RR get enough ridership to justify keeping them going every year. I seem to remember that PWE didn't get too much traffic, at least back in the late 80's and early 90's. Or perhaps there is just more family-oriented value from those two, as compared to DT, regardless of ridership.

MrScott's right... the POV's on CP's site are an accurate view of what you see... but they neglect to expose you to the open air (sides) of MF and TTD and they give you a "tunnelvision" version of the ride, been as you can't look around. I also focus on the top of the lift, as the lift is one of the scariest parts of MF. Or any other coaster. If it helps, and this is a little redundant, but close your eyes, open them when you feel comfortable. The hardest part is standing in the station with the gates closed knowing you are on the next train out! But once you sit down in the train, there is no turning back.

But seriously, have fun, you know that you are not going to die or get injured on the ride. It's all in your mind.

If you want a good approximation of being on a coaster, but not actually riding one, head over to Skate World in Sandusky. We just opened our new XD 3D Motion Theater, its the next best thing to being on a roller coaster. I have heard people that said they would not go on a regular coaster, get off, and say that now they want to hit a REAL coaster.
PS If you are into a spooky ride ask to see the Haunted Mine Ride!

Does anyone know why in the DT line they never use any of the special theater lighting? I have gone to the park for the past 5 years in a row and have never saw any of the special theater lighting on?

The only lights they ever have on is the black lighting.

I think that's all they have. The black lights I mean.

No I know for a fact that in the work room (where the conveyor belt is) there is a lot of Theater lighting. I figure that when the robots went away (I figure this is where they were at, I never saw them) then they decided that there was no reason to use the rest of the lights.

I can not respond to someone who has ""I AM DEATH" in their signature.

Not a good idea, on this end of things.

So the theater lighting that is still attached to the ceiling above our heads when we walk through the lines don't get used at all anymore. I would like to see them all on one day just to see what it looks like.

Its not going ot make it much better. I say give the ride a whole new theme. Something like Tomb Raider at PKI. I like the theming in there. Something like that could be done inside Disaster. Make the shuttles look like jeeps.

Once again Thank you! I know it may sound stupid...a nineteen year old kid afraid to ride a roller coaster...But I am...But like mattymatt suggested and Mr. Scott and the rest of you did.. I am GOING TO RIDE The Millennium Force this year if it kills me!! I will make this promise to everyone...When I go...I will Ride that ride first. Although I do sort of want to try Skyhawk out first...I will Ride Millenium First!

After I get off the ride and kiss the ground..(LOL) I am going to rush to get one of those Ride Photos I see everyone carrying around with them!! I don't know how much they cost but I am going to spend that money on one!

So when I do go for the First time this year...Should I write of my experience? Let me know if you all are interested.....

Good call riding the big ride first. Looking at it all day is absolutly no help and I was in a simialiar situation last year with Dragster and that was the first ride I got out of the way and ended up going on it 7 or 8 times in a row. You will love your first ride on MF best advice is to take the very back seat for the best thrill that way you start going full speed once you hit the peak of the hill.

There's nothing quite like staring down the business end of that first hill.

It may be a small ride but i still like it. I wouldnt ever want to see it go.

guys stop comptaing about Disaster Transport cedar point will not going to torn down Disaster Transport. I love the Disaster Transport.
