We used to make a habit of taking part of an afternoon, going back to Breakers and changing into crappy shorts, tank tops, and flip flops, then heading back to the park for several laps each on Thunder Canyon and Snake River Falls. With those outfits on and nothing in our pockets we didn’t care how wet we got, in fact we hoped for it. It was a blast and for me it was the only way to do those rides. Then when we had enough we’d go back to the hotel, get showers and put on clean clothes for an evening with dinner, drinks, and night time rides.
This was years ago. It’s been a long time since we took the better part of a week to stay at Breakers.
I was up at the park yesterday afternoon/evening but didn't get over to the thunder canyon area until after it closed for the day. I didn't see any waterfalls but I don't think that means much since the ride was closed. A similar thread of Facebook had answers all over the map... several saying that falls were operating and others saying no. Hard to get straight answers online... But it appears that the waterfalls are on intermittently at least.
As for the waterfalls, as you walk on Frontier Trail (which is presently "un-marked trail") near the Thunder Canyon entrance sits that lone employee on the lifeguard perch overseeing the river. That person often pranks the riders and intermittently shuts off the waterfall, thus disappointing bday riders. Since the circuit affects the SV lockers, those over there get the following message at the locker bank:
By the way, I hope the computer glitchy thing didn't adversely affect Jeff & pointbuzz.
Crowdstrike doesn't run on cloud stuff (which is all Linux based anyway).
