Snake River Expedition

This new boat ride is a nod to the park’s former Western Cruise and Paddlewheel Excursions boat rides. Led by a member of Trapper Dan’s crew, you’ll be asked to help complete a secret mission that has you smuggling valuable bounty to safer waters.

Walt, just stop. 12 threads in 7 minutes. Are you OK? 🤣

Easier to have each new thing discussed in manageable threads versus discussing everything in one giant thread. :)

The masses will still discuss The Corral in the Courtesy Corp thread. It is inevitable. You can’t stop it. We are an unmanageable lot.

It's much nicer to have all the complaints categorized by attraction.

Big deal... it's not 500ft tall!

I need to start a change.org petition...

Snake River Expedition is a good name.

At least this kind of guarantees that SRF will be sticking around for a little while then. Would have been sweet if they refurbished it with the original mountain concept to go along with the new boat ride.

shenanigans.

Always thought the lagoon needed the ride and that kinetic energy. I've been pushing for years for rides that everyone can handle...from infant to grandma. I applaud this decision.

Can't wait to see and ride it. Curious about the bridges like everyone else. The new 2020 run ride quarter and half marathon maps have us running onto the island over the old Dinos bridge, a change from prior years courses. It'll be interesting to see if that is a mistake in the run map (again, its a new course for 2020) or if some bridge does remain somehow.

Maybe they could replace it with a drawbridge. That'd be kind of neat.

I bet Intamin can engineer us the fastest hydraulic drawbridge in the world.

I think if Intamin designed a drawbridge, it would be successful, given their success with downtime.

As long as B&M doesn’t design the restraints it should be great

New for 2024- Wicked Twister Plus

How opinions vary, I personally think B&M has the best restraint design out there!

B&M Clamshell is the best restraint of all time IMO. The vest is improving, Yukon Striker's are excellent. Banshee? Not so much.

I'm wondering if the ride won't actually lap the island.

Help the crew complete a secret mission, smuggling valuable bounty to safer waters.

Based on the park's description, maybe you disembark from the station, travel clockwise to around where the StR bridge is, deliver the "valuable bounty", then return back to the station counter-clockwise.

That would be a capacity nightmare I would think if you could only run one boat. It will have to be a full circle somehow.

djDaemon's avatar

They could probably run two boats - there's enough room for two to pass one another, at least near the dock.

But I agree that would be an issue. But what's the alternative? Drawbridges?

Brandon

Build an elevated bridge similar to a walkway that goes above a freeway..
