Those stamps are NOT easy to wash off! Even with some soap and a lot of scrubbing it took me a couple of days to get all the paint off my hand. I'm glad I have the option to say no. :-)
Because that's something we all have lying around the house.

I've never had trouble getting the stamp off, it's usually gone after my shower the next morning anyway, but I never saw the point in making someone who has paid for an entire season of entry to the park get a stamp to return to the park after walking to their car.

^^ For which gates did u use your pass??
I had no issues with the Main Gate or the Marina gate.
Alright yesterday leaving the park to head for dinner at Dave's during the rain I asked the attendent if we could just scan our passes to re-enter the park. He said it depends...some passes scan back, some don't. And some passes that scan at Marina don't scan at front or Soak City or whatever. Apparently they don't have a clue why not all passes work all the time. So he tested our passes and we found that ours will rescan at Marina, but it's good to check beforehand.
I was at the park yesterday morning for a few hours. I asked the handstamper on the way out if I could just use my platinum pass for reentry. He said no and regurgitated the old policy about one scan per day. So it appears not all the employees are aware of this.
I don't quite understand why the pass just doesn't work at all gates, all the time, as many times as the season pass holder wants to use them.
Whether or not it "scans" should be irrelevant. Your photo appears in the screen regardless.

One would assume, unless the picture doesn't appear on a "failed scan," and instead the gate person just sees a big red box "ALREADY USED TODAY" or something.
The point is, why was multi-scanning of the platinum pass ever not allowed? Are the security measures of smeared blob of fluorescent ink on your wrist, or a peanuts character indelibly etched onto the back of your hand more robust than a physically held card attached to your photo ID in the system?
Most likely because the small picture that was on the pass made it easier for someone other than the pass holder to use the pass. The large pictures on the monitor make that much more difficult.

So sorry to bump an old topic, but I scanned my pass several times on Friday. I went back to Sandcastle a couple of times, went to the marina for the cruise and went to Famous Dave's. All re-scanning my pass. One employee at the Soak City gate said we had to get a handstamp, but it still works re-scanning your pass. Everyone else in my group did it as well without issues.

When they have your picture attached to your pass I think it is ridiculous to require a hand stamp for re-entry. Unless they have had a major issue with identical twins sneaking each other into the park I have no idea why they'd require the stamp for pass holders.
What's ridiculous is thinking that getting your pass back out is easier than showing the back of your hand.
I asked the young lady at the front gate if I needed a stamp, as I wasn't even sure I'd be back, and she said "It's never a bad idea. We're finding sometimes a re-scan doesn't always work then it's a hassle for everyone." I decided to err on the side of caution.
Perhaps I have very advanced coordination skills and am able to quickly produce our passes when needed.
On most occasions we know ahead of time we will be entering the park and the walk to the gate gives one ample time to produce their passes, even if they lack my advanced coordination between mind and body...
They've been allowing re-entry with passes since the 2014 season.
Handstamps are there for the people that do not have passes, regular printed tickets.
It's probably best guest relations to have most people getting stamped or showing stamps, so as guest with regular tickets know to get stamped.
They're most likely to not know about hand stamps.

You either show a hand, or a card.
I just get the hand stamp, hell it's easier anyways, then I can leave my wallet inside my pants. I never got this stamp/no stamp debate lol

It's nice not having the ink on your hand. It's not about what is easier, it sucks to always have to wash off the ink if you go to the park frequently.

Is washing your hands not a normal practice or something? It literally takes just a normal, thorough hand washing with soap and warm water to get the ink off.
I find that smearing ink on my hand kind of violates my personal space. I've never liked it.
