Screamscape

The simple fact that so many people on this site feel the need to kiss the ass of, and agree with everything some people say is beyond me. Lance runs a coaster news/info/gossip site. He had info and a pic of a concept drawing. He posted the WIDLY known information on his website. So what? It's his right to do so; it's also the right of CP to shut him out. Maybe he's not looking for favors from the park. Some folks who run coaster sites post inside information to the GP. Other people who run coaster sites delete/censor anything they don’t like, and talk down to their members, so what. It's their right to do so. I think the thing that bothers some people the most is the fact that they love to be on the "inside". The fact that the GP is made aware of the "inside" information makes what they know less special. Talk to your shrink about how dad never hugged you, and get over your self.

It's a ride at a park, so what. Want to know what PKI is getting in 07? Ask me I'll tell ya. Don’t believe me? See how quick my post with there 07 plans gets deleted around here. At the end of the day none of this matters. Get over your self, and see the shrink twice a week.

No matter what importance an information leak like this has to a park, there is really no excuse in disclosing confidential information. While this example took place shortly before the actual announcement, earlier leaks could give competing parks an idea of what is getting built. Whatever the reason, any business should have the right to keep future plans confidential without dishonest people posting it online.

I personally had a hard time comprehending how so many people believed such an authentic-looking drawing could be a fake just because it was posted on Screamscape. I read a lot of accurate information on there in the past.

I like screamscape! I get my news from there. I found this site on there. I think that lance was just doing his job. reporting the news you guys have, not gave us no news or pictures in days. the 3rd was the last time . dont be mad at lance be mad at the person that spilled the beans.

You guys keep talking about Cedar Point "trusting people." It's not an issue of that. They didn't tell anyone without having them sign an NDA. You don't break those because you get fired or sued. I suspect the leak came from someone on the inside, or someone at the CD-ROM dupe house. We may never know. Regardless, the issue is what you choose as a media outlet (and I use that term loosely in the case of Screamscape) to do with it.

Well, they did give him a black helicopter so that he could meet Mr. Kinzel in a remote location in the middle of the night and have a good laugh at all the speculation on Pointbuzz.

I believe Jeff said he did the interviews that were released on the website (and in the press packets).

The one with coater enthusiast lady was pretty funny. Her interview was quite enlighting. What I want to know is what Jeff, or whoever it was that was doing the interview, was doing in order to make her blink those 20 times in 15 seconds.

I will always trust Jeff & Walt. They are dedicated to CP and always will be. I could not beleive what I saw on Screamscape and was shocked to see it was correct. It will be interesting to see if CP cracks down on SC.

This ride loosk kick butt!

CP Rules and so does PointBuzz!!

Sure its a matter of trust. You don't provide confidential information to someone who you don't trust. Non-disclosure agreement is just a backstop. Breach of the NDA simply creates a cause of action for money damages. And you have to prove actual damages. What were the damages to CP in this instance based on the disclosure by screamscape? And the person you sue needs to be collectible. And the person who made the disclosure (assuming they can be identified) may lose their job. But at the end of the day, you will not get your confidential information out of the public domain once it has been put there.

I suspect that CP provided information to a small circle of people at the outset and as the ride moved along in the process, that circle grew. And as the day of the official announcement grew closer, CP became less and less concerned about disclosure.
