Oh no. The article reported the coroner was called to the scene. Hoping for the best.

A park guest hopped the fence at Raptor, and was killed.

Cedar Point is confirming to media that a man was struck and killed by Raptor around 5:00 p.m. after he entered a restricted area.

How awful. Looks like webcams have been taken down as well.

Thoughts and prayers to the family.

So sad. This would be the first death from an incident at Cedar Point.

My immediate thought goes to the terrible idea that someone's dangling legs might have hit him, how awful all around.

Statement from Cedar Point:

At approximately 5 p.m., a guest entered a restricted, fenced area of the Raptor roller coaster and was struck by the ride. Park safety officials responded immediately to the situation. Unfortunately the guest has passed away. Local authorities are on the scene conducting an investigation.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family at this time.

I have family there right now. The mood is terrible.

Anyone hear how old the guy is? Didn't something similar happen at a six flags park in which a guest went over a fence to retrieve a hat and got decapitated?

They're marked as restricted areas for a reason. This has happened a few times at other parks in the U.S and there's probably nothing the ride operators could have done. Hopefully no one else was injured on the train that made contact with the guest in the restricted area. Probably wanted to retrieve a hat or phone or something. Tragic, but completely avoidable if basic rules are followed.

I just hope it wasn't someone with the Lebron James reunion.

The Sandusky Register is reporting the man was in his mid-40s.

The comments on the CP FB page are terrible! I'm sure the status will be removed soon.

Sorry don't feel bad. Fences and signs are there for a reason. Don't be a jack ass. Follow the rules. They are there for a reason. Now you make the best park in the world look bad because of one dumb idiot.

Sorry my opinion. No cedar points fault. Media will blow this out of proportion now because of one schmuck who probably had his phone out and dropped it and tried to get it back.

I feel worse for anyone on the ride that hit him. Going into the restricted section is just asking for a Darwin award.

That's an awful thing to say! Sure, he may have not made the right decision but when someone's life has been taken I think you need to keep the comments to yourself.

Staaber: You do realize it's possible to be unsympathetic without being an asshole, right? He has a family who I'm sure had their fun day turn into a complete nightmare.

It's a tragedy all around. He made a fatal dumb choice, yes, but he has a family. He's someone's son. He might have children of his own.

And there are others who struck him on the ride and others who witnessed.

Stay classy, and if you can't, stay quiet.

Promoter of fog.

If it was me, and I lost something, I would just tell park security at the end of the day. What was this guy thinking?
