RUGRATS runnin' around The Point?

Dick Kinzel said in today's 11am conference call that Cedar Fair has the option to bring the Nick themes and characters to their other parks. Would you like to see the Rugrats and others at The Point or do we keep Charlie Brown and Co.? I personally like the Peanuts.

.. based on the cost to do so. I doubt you'll see much of a change in the exsisting parks.

R.I.P. Fright Zone, and Cyrus along with it.

I think that might also maybe confuse the branding CP already has right now. Either way that wouldn't happen this year.

How much life is left in old Snoopy? Peanuts is a great brand for now, but there is no new product now that Charles Schulz is dead and no new strips are being produced.

Nickelodeon is a great option going forward.

I don't know... nick theme characters are100 times bigger than snoopy. And while its hard to imagine that snoopy might go the way of bearenstien bears... here are some pros and cons saying goodbye to snoopy

pro: spongebob and the other nick toons are HUGE right now and are much more identifiable to little ones because they see them every day.
con: Snoopys been arround forever and has proven staying power, who knows how long kids will care about Avatar:the last airbender
Pro: Spongebob would fit in awesome at castaway bay, where they play nicktoons ALL DAY ON A BIG SCREEN
Con: it would cost alot of money to retheme
Pro: some of the parks arent so snoopy-centric, like geauga lake and could be easily rethemed. *** Edited 5/22/2006 4:39:21 PM UTC by liebevision***

I believe there is a Holiday Inn in Orlando with the Nickelodeon brand. I don't know if that is exclusive to that hotel, the chain, or what.

Apparently it is a very popular hotel.

I'll take the Peanuts over the "Nick" characters any day of the week. I hope the existing parks don't change.

Agreed 100%. My mother was (is) a raving Peanuts fan, so I grew up with all the Snoopy stuff and the tv specials and the stuffed animals and everything. I still love Peanuts, and I can't stand any of the new cartoons they have on Nickelodeon now.

I agree with JeffV, I can't stand any Nick cartoons out now (although I will admit to seeing the Spongebob movie). I think the Peanuts have a more universal appeal. Not to mention that Snoopy and the gang have been around for decades, who knows how long the Spongebob fad will last.

I totally am for the Peanuts. It would definitely NOT be the same Cedar Point if they switched to Nick characters, it'd be more like Universal or something. Just lose some of the family atmosphere (do you know any parents that would rather see Rugrats than Charlie Brown?) and be less appealing. I can't stand most Nick characters like the Rugrats, and it really would be too bad if they made the switch.

I personally can't stand Spongebob, so Snoopy all the way for me.

My son LOVES Snoopy and the Peanuts gang. The Camp Snoopy's have been very successful in my opinion.

The parks will retain some individual identity and Nick vs Snoopy will probably help and not hurt that.

I can see the use of Nick characters at Geauga Lake and Valleyfair! But not Cedar Point or Knotts.

Snoopy Rules!

I really don't understand the entertainment value in the current cartoons. At least Quickdraw McGraw, Scooby, and Bugs had stuff for everyone, even the adults. I say bring back Hana Barbera cartoons. But considering that that in all probability won't happen, I'll take Snoopy over Spongebob any day. No one holds a candle to the beagle. *** Edited 5/23/2006 12:07:49 AM UTC by BlueStreak64***

Three things you need to fix anything in the universe: duct tape, WD-40, and a hammer. Duct tape if it moves and it shouldn't, WD-40 if it doesn't move and should, and the hammer as the last resort.

Bring back Bearenstien Bears...Please, I miss them. :) Who can remember going into their treehouse and playing aound? I can. The house has now been turned into a slide :( I think they should have cleared that whole area and started over. The buildings are all the same, and few if any have any relation to the Peanuts Gang *** Edited 5/22/2006 9:05:38 PM UTC by Ryan L***

I doubt if CP will have the Nick characters at the park since they are owned by Viacom/Paramount/CBS.

Trent

Tren, where have you been? Try to catch up, they have the rights to them for the next 4 years, at the Paramount parks, and have the option of buying them for use everywhere else.
