Roller Coaster History Timeline Added to Construction Fence

Aside from the timeline, it seems like there aren't any teasers (on CP's website Facebook, twitter, etc.) like there usually are around this time. I'm wondering if that is because the "leak" is what CP is actually planning on building and they don't want the rumor to get too strong.

I predict an announcement will be made on the schedule set for this year's announcement by the relevant department(s) rather than when announcements have been made in previous years...

Maybe the PR department acknowledged the feedback on social media from last year's teasing, and realized the disappointment it caused. I think the whole teasing thing is outdated any way, IMO.

I think the whole timeline on the wall is a big teaser. It basically implies that a new coaster is coming.

You brought her. You teaser.

I'm talking about the social media teasing and the "Mantis will be squashed" video for example. The announcement for the announcement for the major announcement dates that were used last year were too much.

How many people do things like that reach? About 99% of the park guests every year don't come to sites like this nor do they pay attention to these "teasers". Most park visitors likely don't care about these teasers and will just see the major announcement or hear about the new attraction when the park begins promoting the upcoming season.

I think that sometimes, such teaser campaigns -- or productions like this -- are as much for the amusement of the park staff having fun with enthusiasts/Facebook followers/etc as they are with promoting an attraction.

I don't think the announcement will come until the end of August. That is just my personal thoughts.

The announcement will be on the last day of August and some of us will lose the will to live around the 17th.

Or not even that. I still have friends ask me "What's going on with some new ride up there at Cedar Point? Did you get on it?" And I have to say "Well, yes, but it's not exactly new, it's a re-imagining of Mantis, still the same ride but with different trains, blah blah blah" and they usually respond with "Oh." or, "I don't like Mantis"...

That's why I just say "yes it is fun" instead of talking about the types and mechanics of coasters to a bunch of people who show no interest.

Eh I'll have to disagree there. CP's Twitter page has nearly 100k followers, and although not all of them actively check online, word of mouth from these 1% (technically 3%, but still a small number nonetheless) can multiply that number to a pretty decent extent. Before I really got into coasters word of mouth from friends was how I got my info.

I believe live cam 1 is currently trained in on the wall. Not that it means anything. Just thought it was interesting.

Nevermind. It is pointed elsewhere now.

8/18/15 we will find out what the wall has lead up too. I'm so excited to see what is in store for cedar point next year

I am surprised that there is no sign on the fence with some kind of 2016 teaser or the date of the 2016 announcement. Maybe they will put one of later this week.

I think the fact that the Rougarou sign has an arrow pointing to empty space is a pretty good teaser that another coaster is on the way.

I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.

According to a video on this page, they are taking it down.

Based on the photos I saw yesterday, seems like they may be building a new fence behind the current one. Thus, they could be taking this fence down.
