it is a over priced family ride built off the chase scene from the movie but it is a great family coaster it is fast and high action coaster. But Cedar point cant keep themeing up look at DT. all it is is a dark roller coaster. I know PKI cant keep up themeing good but i hope they keep up this ride.
I don't know if Hurricane Hanna will be around next year, but if it is removed along with the monorail that we are talking about, you could fit a good size coaster in that area. That would really bring people to Geauga Lake. I think you could fit a Hyper-Twister in there.
No, water park attractions bring people in. Didn't Six Flags teach you anything?

The odd thing is that Six Flags was building brand new waterparks at many of it's parks. Why they didn't see the potential of the Sea World side as Cedar Fair did is beyond me.

I remember that ride too, that ride was freaking awesome. I was wondering did you have a picture of it? I don't know where to start to look for that ride.

1. Double Loop isn't going anywhere, it's the official roller-coaster starter coaster. Ask 100 people and I bet 50 of their first roller coaster has been Double Loop.
Just because a roller coaster is a starter doesnt mean they wont take it out. Look at the idiots at SF:GA, they took out the shockwave which had 7 inversions and was the starter for most people at the park. But then they disassembled it and build a VERY crappy flyer, S:UF.
The point is that just because it is a starter coaster its safe from the wrecking ball
Now I can proudly chant "We're No. 16!" Thank you Cubs for allowing me to live my dream.
Yeah since Geauga Lake isn't competing with anyone such as PKI, or SFMM, or Cedar Point, it wouldn't hurt them. They could lose Double Loop and bring in something better in that area. I have an even better idea, why not make the Double loop longer in lenght? I think thats a good idea.
I don't really like any coaster being removed but I could live without Head Spin. One idea I like is put an Ivertigo in its place they are fun. And they crowds wouln't overwelm it like at Face/Off. Also a wild mouse or spinning mouse would do well at Geauga Lake. Leave Double loop alone. It is a classic.
I think that geauga lake should put in a ride like flight of fear at PKI. Something compact that twists arround itself over and over again to take up less space yet still be a large ride. because space seems like quite a premium at geauga lake, much more so than cedar point, and people go ON AND ON about how CP is running out of room. I do suppose they could expand into one of the two parking lots and only have one, but that seems like a six flags move.

I like your idea a lot, I was wondering when you said that what a good name would be for a ride like that coming to a park like Geauga Lake? We could call it The Lost Tomorrow or something stupid like that just because it's at Geauga Lake.

Actually, space is not a premium so to speak at GL. Take a look at the park on TerraServer and you will se that they have plenty of room. WWK won't take up all of the former Sea World real estate, so there's some room, all that wooded area surrounding the park near RWB and around the edge of the park facing the main road. ANd I think the WWK lot doesn't really need to be as big as it is, so I could see them using some of that as a last ditch opportunity

Three things you need to fix anything in the universe: duct tape, WD-40, and a hammer. Duct tape if it moves and it shouldn't, WD-40 if it doesn't move and should, and the hammer as the last resort.
Well they could build by Ragging Wolf Bobs, but there is swamp land right there and the coaster would sink. Unless you put footers in like you did for Dominator.
Well since we all know that Demon Drop is for sale. We now all know that Mr. Hydes Nasty Fall is for sale as well. Why is Cedar Fair selling their drop rides? Both parks? I thought the object was to create business between the two parks. People might come to Geauga Lake to ride Mr. Hydes Nasty Fall if Demon Drop is Removed from Cedar Point. What would you fit in Mr. Hydes spot? You have more of chance putting something big in for Demon Drops old spot then you do Mr. Hydes.
You've never worked on a 20 year old free fall. As Jeff said over at CB, the ridership on both vs. the cost to maintain them isn't exactly a win situation for any company.
These two are not the only freefalls to die this year. Just wait.

I doubt anyone is going to GL or CP to ride that thing. I don't have any strong dislike for Demon Drop, but the Nasty Paint Job, that thing was down more than it was up under Six Flags rule. It seems to better under new ownership, but that doesn't mean any more people are actually riding it.

I still haven't been able to get a ride on Mr. Hyde's this year, and I visit the park once or twice a week. I have seen Rob working on it many, many times though. :)

I was thinking about this today. What if part of the station for Big Dipper was redone. Maybe they could refurbish it and make it with todays technology. Maybe they could add new controls, new brakes, etc.
I believe the Dipper now has (and has had for some time) automatic braking/dispatch. Am I wrong?

You're correct. The controls system at Big Dipper is an up to date Allen Bradley control system.
