Ride Removal

If a park has a coaster that is an ACE Landmark, that is all there is to it. ACE Presents them with a plaque to put at the entrance of the ride. The park can still do with it what they please.

1. Double Loop isn't going anywhere, it's the official roller-coaster starter coaster. Ask 100 people and I bet 50 of their first roller coaster has been Double Loop.

2. There will not be a seperate gate for the waterpark. It would be the PR department shooting itself in the foot. Plus, the amusement park side would never be able to hold it's own.

3. The thing to remember about rides is that their has to be an evacuation method of some kind for when, not if the ride breaks down. Putting a train over water would be hard to evacuate because it's just water. The only thing I could see happening is building something just high enough to where people could hop onto one of the paddleboats.

4. If GL decides to take out the Big Dipper I will personally start a campaign to boycott the park. That's one of the most underrated woodies in the country and those seats are so comfy!

And we all know of Mr. Hyde's problems and it's history.

Sorry, erm, I have little idea what you mean. All I found out is that it was called "The Edge" at one point, and there was an accident. Is there anything else? And was the accident serious?

I'm with you man, I think Big Dipper is more comfortable than both Raging Wolf Bobs and Villian. It has some insane airtime going over those hills. If they relocated it to make way for a new coaster, then that would be sweet, but I think it's a great coaster and should be left alone. I wouldn't boycott Geauga Lake though because they have Dominator and X-Flight, which is like the top 2 rides in the park.

nesdude: That particular freefall ride came from Six Flags Great Adventure(I think), where the cart was being hoisted up the shaft, and fell. It landed on top of another car waiting below. I believe it killed a few people.

I loved Big Dipper. I'd rather see Villian go than Big Dipper.

It didn't kill anyone. The accident was non-fatal. And it was at Great America, not Adventure.

If GL were going to remove Mr. Hyde's, then why would they have spent time and money last year to re-hab the entire thing??? I really see no way GL is removing any coaster, seeing as how they have vowed to take TLC of all of them unlike what Six Flags did. If there is anything going, I can see it being the monorail. However, we won't know until they decide... if they have decided at all!!

My vote would be for Mind Eraser. If there is any ride SHOULD be removed, its that abomination. Plus, if the park is ever going to try and get some sort of high capacity ratings, having two shuttle rides isn't the way to go. Are there any other CF parks that need a shuttle? Perhaps they could move it somewhere.

Why would you remove head spin? You wouldnt be able to fit another ride in that spot except a ride like Deja Vu or something.

Well whatever happens with Phase II for 2006 with WildWater Kingdom, we'll probably see the removal of Hurricane Hanna as well because everyone is going to be at Wildwater Kingdom. Plus Phase II calls for a new wave pool, and some more attractions. So my guess is they'll remove the Monorail and put in a different kind of transportation ride to go across the lake. I'd really still like to see a steam locomotive go around the lake or across it. I think that would be neat. *** Edited 7/18/2005 4:09:21 AM UTC by Shawn Meyer***

Yeah, that monorail isnt really needed anymore. A steam engine wouldn't be to bad if it goes around the lake. It would be a nice addition to Geauga Lake.

I think GL should put in a ride like the Italian Job Stunt Track at PKI. They could put it by the old shark building or the site of Hurricane Hannas

About Mr.Hyde...

The ride has been reprogrammed since then so there is only one car in the shaft at a time.

I believe they also removed one car from the ride as they did on Demon Drop after the accident. So, in other words, Mr.Hyde won't have that accident again.

About the IJ Stunt Track idea. Cedar Fair won't ever do that....ever. You don't want another Disaster Transport.

Coaster Fanatic Since 2003

Im glad Im back and I hope you guys are too. I was thinking today if they did take out the monorail, they could start the train station around the new Picnic Pavillion. Maybe the train could pass the Thunderhawk and Dominator and cut through Raging Wolf Bobs. It could make like 4 stops. 1 stop by the Dominator, another stop in the Wildwater Kingdom somewhere.

The lake is far too deep to put a ride over, so don't count on it. But then again, I could be wrong.

Being Mavericky since 2007!

Well They had to drain part of the lake I'm sure to get Dominator and Thunderhawk In. I mean look at those footers, those are huge. I'm sure they'd have to pour a lot of concrete to make one huge slab across the lake.

Local legend - or fact - has it that the depth of the lake is not known as it is too deep for measurement. Take it for what it is worth.

I'm sure the rides that Shawn mentioned were built in low-depth areas.

How can you compare IJ to disaster transport, IJ is one of the best coasters i have been on this year it would be a perfect type of ride for Geauga Lake it is a FAMILY coaster take it for what it is. it is the money that it cost for one of those rides, that will scare cedar fair,

What ride is IJ? I'm confused..
