Record-breaking Siren’s Curse tilt coaster to lure Cedar Point thrill seekers in 2025

Is early June opening a good possibility? I’m so worried I’ll miss it.

Haven’t kept up at all. Good to hear TT2 is supposed to be opening day

Tony mentioned in our presentation that they are planning on Siren's Curse being part of Coastermania. So I'd say late May/early June is very doable right now

Thanks! What presentation? Was this like an exclusive event?

Sorry to be dumb I truly don’t know what that is

Yesterday was the annual winter chill out. It's charity fundraiser the park puts on every year. Winter Chill Out got its start from this site (or members of this site), but its grown well beyond it.

Thanks appreciate the response

First, I agree that tower looks massive and imposing on the midway (not sure I love it crowding the midway there, but then again it will look amazing to stand on the midway and watch the visual of the tilt track operate -- which is precisely why it's located there, I know...)

Second, not sure they are behind schedule... I thought in the one the construction updates they said March was for finishing the track and preliminary tower testing (and then obviously with trains thereafter). Seems very doable to finish all the track in March (this is a relatively small footprint/ not lengthy ride), finish up testing, landscaping various nits throughout April / early May, get certified and open by Memorial Day or early June?

Finally, I posted in the Winterfest thread that it looks like they are attempting to straighten portions of the TT2 track (probably to prevent some of the hunting the trains did). I really hope zamperla's fix sticks.

^landscaping.

they better plant the trees now, or they’ll be no leaves to speak of come June ;)

Sit tight fellas ;) Applebee's fills my belly daily.

I keep wondering just how sure Tony is about Siren being open in time for coastermania

I’m not implying he’s lying, I just wish I was there to hear how he said it. Was it a “this is probably gonna happen thing” or “we hope it’s going to ready thing”

I understand Tony is not trying to mislead but hearing info secondhand is definitely different than hearing how he sounded when he said it. Did anyone here directly hear it?

It’s getting time for me to book tickets, which gives me anxiety lol 😅

I mean, if you're relying on any individual coaster "making or breaking" your CM experience, then just don't go, ever. None of the coasters are sure things to be open for CM.

At any rate, I believe what Tony said was basically "at this point SC is expected to be open ahead of CM."

I want it in writing, not a verbal commitment.

I’m excited to ride asap. I do feel now that I’ve seen the tower in place that it would probably be a better fit back around where frontier fling sat. The tower could maybe play off some old mill theme if painted brown. It’s going to be an epic midway visual though so I’m still excited.

While I agree that thematically it might work better back there, actually fitting there is another matter entirely.

For sure, I’m not actually going to coaster mania. Just coming to the park in general for the first time. I was able to put last years off because TT2. But I have to use my plane tickets this year and I really don’t wanna wait until August. So I’m really hoping they are confident

Yeah fitting it in just seemed to work out well in this case. Cedar point is not a park that allows for a lot of prefab cookie cutter installs. That’s a very good thing.

At least its not in a Parking Lo...Well...er...ummm ;-)

Ahhhhh C.P. My Happy Place!

In all fairness, that area has needed some love since Wildcat was removed in 2012.

Hey guys. Does anyone know of any Twitter accounts or Facebook groups providing progress on the construction of this ride? Just super interested to see the work even though I won’t understand the process

Cheers!

From Facebook, the first thing I could find was Peninsula of Thrills. Not looking that deep right now. I'm more interested in when it's complete and open. I don't use X.

June 21-22 is when my family and I are planning to go. If Coastermania is when Siren's Curse opens, then this shouldn't be an issue.

Unofficial Rule of Ride Removals

You must announce removals in advance so people can get their last rides in, unless a major incident or malfunction prevents the ride from doing so.

This applies to roller coasters, flat rides, water rides, and so on.

Exceptions to this rule include upcharge attractions, waterpark rides, and rides that are effectively redundant within a park.

Peninsula of Thrills on IG has provided some views, but there's not a ton of visible progress. They're still working on the tilt tower, and have laid some track beneath what will be the lift hill, have a fair amount of supports installed, and are making progress on the station and tunnel. I suspect that once they get the tilt tower and lift done, the rest will come together pretty rapidly.

Brandon

I agree with that too. The construction manager for Siren’s Curse said they have about four weeks of work to do underneath the tower after the tilt track was installed. We just surpassed that four week mark. Next week also looks like the start of some dry and warmer weather which will help with the process.
