You ever see the Ribwich episode of the Simpsons?

Goodbye MrScott
John
I rode millenium the 2nd year it was opened and had no trouble, but just last year I rode it and had a hell of a time getting the seatbelt latched. Im not bragging but I only weigh 145 pounds and have a 32 waist. How is that right. If anything Dragster should have the millenium belts, and vice versa. I saw a bunch of people get turned down. It just isn't right.
Can I just say that having worked on TTD which has basically the same trains as MF alot of people dont' fit because they don't buckle the seatbelts properly. They take the belt over the sidebar instead of through it which would give them another 2-3 inchs of belt. Now if you're nice the ride op will point this out to you but if you decide to start yelling at the ride op for not fitting chances are they won't. So there's my two cent

BULL*@#! Something doesn't add up. If you're telling the truth about your weight and waist size, you'd have no problem. You're fudgin on something. I'm 5'11", 240, with a 42 inch waist and I've never had a problem. Granted, it is snug and I have to tug a little to get the slack, but I've never been close to being turned down.
Wow DRose calm down. I'm not lieing. The dude that came with me was even confused. Why would I lie about something so stupid? Also like I said ALOT of people were getting turned down of all sizes! So don't be so quick to jump. thats one of the many reasons I just come on here to read the posts!
I apologize. I'm not trying to be an ass, I'm really not. It's just that every year I read these posts about the belts being shortened even more. People come on here with stories about not being able to ride, and I'm talkin skinny people. So, I get a little nervous that I may not be able to ride next time I go, yet every trip, no problem at all. And I told you my dimensions, so I don't see how someone your size could possibly have trouble.
Its cool. I understand now. From what I hear the yellow train seems to be the worse, and I remember specifically the first time I got the blue train. Last year I got the yellow train. Just steer away from the yellow train I guess.

Awesome point man. Maybe the hated Adam does have a good point as well.
Alot of people here are probably not representing themselves properly.
This thread caught my eye because a friend of mine was asked to leave a ride because the seatbelt wouldn't fit properly...specifically, the Wicked Twister. Unfortunately, she didn't think to sit in the tester seat- which I would find embarrassing- to get kicked off the ride after sitting in the tester seat.
Strangely enough, a guy here at my job was kicked off of the MF along with his wife. He was fussing about the seatbelts & wanting to complain to Cedar Fair, L.P. & all I could tell him was: "So would you rather they took you off the ride and embarrass you, or they squeeze you in & the restraints fail and you fall out at 92 mph?"
Point: So what that the tester seat fit & the actual train didn't. Be glad that you didn't fall out and go SPLAT against a support that you'd go flying by @ 90+ mph. Cedar Fair, LP changed the seatbelts this year because, apparently, there was an incident on a similar roller coaster made by Intamin where the seatbelt failed. Safety first!
I hope you, at least, enjoyed more rides at the Point! :-)
"THE Top Thrill Dragster...THE Millennium Force...THE Wicked Twister...THE Magnum! How do you like those apples?!?!?"
The seatbelt never failed. The ride operators failed to properly secure the man, who was disabled with Cerebral Palsy, and out he went. The on-ride photo showed his lap bar all the way up.
Oh, that sucks. Even still: better safe than sorry.
My friend was more relieved than embarrassed when they told her to get off.
Why would they put a person on the ride anyway if he had Cerebal Palsy??

I sent an email to Park Ops earlier in the season because of the inconsistency between the seatbelts on the MF trains and the test seat and I finally got a response back from Peggy Bertsch stating that they have experienced some issues with the seatbelts and that all the MF trains were going to be refitted with new seatbelts at the end of the season.
Next year? Is that because they don’t have all week to work on them this time of year ;).
I always though the differences between train color were just coincidence. However, after a mini-marathon tonight, yes yellow is a good 1”-2” shorter than the test seat or the other trains. Of course the saddest part of all is it takes a bunch of coaster dorks on a message board to figure it out and not the park. ;)
Brian Noble has the right idea
I'd prefer it if the test seat was the most restrictive belt in the place. At least then if you make the test seat, you know you're going to fit.
Which is how it was in the past….. If They are too lazy/cheap/don't give a crap/whatever to fix them right now, at least take the little time to get the test seat belt lined up with the smallest seat belts, which appear to be on the yellow train.

Last trip I made to the Point, which was back in May, I noticed that they had rerouted the belts back underneath that side bar, which made them a little more forgiving than last year. I'm leaving next Friday morning to come up for the weekend. Can anyone tell me if the belts are still inside the bar, or did they go back outside again like the previous 2 years?
They still run underneeth. Actually I think they have always ran over from 00-05, it's just the fiasco made it seem more tight. TTD was a bit different though.... I think they were originaly routed under, then over, now back under again this year. *** Edited 9/16/2006 6:18:32 AM UTC by Joe E***

The belts should always run underneath. The problem is people get quick to fasten the belts. Then when they do not fit, these same people begin to argue with the ride operators. The Ops do not like this kind of confrontation and will tell you that you can not fit. End Of Story! Be courteous and nice to the ops cause they will properly restain you if you have not done so for yourself.

When this happens, those of us who are not large and those of us who are too large will be separated, and this thread will cease to exist.
I am gonna party hard!
