sorry to post again, but why don't we here about the seatbelts on all the SMROS any more? I never here about people not fitting on them anymore? But we still have this seatbelt thread on MF? What did SF's do something right and CP didn't?
Well, this is, for one, a Cedar Point fansite. SM:ROS is located in a Six Flags park, so that would partially explain why we don't hear about it.
Goodbye MrScott

Adam, did it ever occur to you that some people may be too TALL to ride Millennium Force? I've ridden with Invertalon, and he doesn't have an ounce of fat on him, he's just really tall. It really says something about your immaturity when you start calling everyone who can't ride MF fat.
Went to Cedar Point on LAbour Day weekend. Last ride of the day was our only ride on MF. Got into the station around 9:30 my wife got into the seat (not sure which train, but it was the second car from the back) and she was within an inch of getting the lapbelt latched.
What surprised me was the effort the ride op went through to try to get the belt latched. He spent a good 45 seconds and finally succeeded thankfully. Someone else within the same train closer to the front had to leave.
I've noticed as you get closer to the end of the day, the ride ops will do everything they can to help people out. I know they make a big deal during the day about not helping people, so I'm not sure the reasoning behind that.
Its cool to see them helping at night though.
I have experienced problems similar to this working at maXair. I hate when I would work at entrance and have people try the test seat and see that they can get the seatbelt falstened. Yet, I would have to remind them that they still may not be able to get the belt fastened on the platform. So many times I have seen people fit in the test seat and then to have to exit the ride 20 minutes later because they can't get the belt fastened on the ride. Granted this isn't as big a problem as Millennium, however it is still unnecessary.
To make that worse, no one told me to mention that to people in the beginning. I had to learn the hard way, when people would get mad at me, that I need to let people know that fitting in the test seat is not a guarentee to ride. I would feel like I was an American Idol judge would would narrow down people at entrance and then pick my final winners on the platform. To me, that is totally rediculous and something needs to be done to fix the problem. It is really embarrassing for the guest and it completely wastes their time.

Hi Point Buzz readers:
First of all I'm sorry if I offended you.
The exceptions are MF_Man and Invertalon.
It is obvious that most of us will never have an issue with any ride at Cedar Point. Being tall has its upsides and its downsides. I have a great friend that is 6'9" who sat next to me THIS YEAR on Millennium Force. I better say it again. 6'9" and 290 lbs. He rode Millennium Force and Top Thrill Dragster. He is in good shape. My brother in law has a 38 inch waste and had no problem on any ride at the park and we rode on both the blue and yellow trains on Millennium Force. I also rode both trains with my my exceptionally tall friend.
I am very sorry if I made anyone mad with my posts besides the exceptions.
As I stated before the country is getting fat. I think it is an excellent incentive that Cedar Point is not loosening any seatbelts to accommodate for those with extreme lipid problems. I guess i tackled the height problem cause how many people are taller then 6'9"
Is it me or are people really trying to blame their weight problem on others? Its definetly going on here in this thread of a site that most people will never read. In some cases being big is unavoidable, but these cases are rare. I know one person where an irregular thyroid caused her to gain weight. A problem that hits fewer people then ALCS. Both diseases are rare.
Invertalon, I can read. What I read has more importance to the events of the world. I did see someone bitching about how Cedar Point, a place that i found in the early 90's and started having an annual appearance at in every year from 94, is keeping some people of large proportions off of some of their signiture rides. I am sorry that some larger guests are being kept off certain rides.
SAFETY BEFORE DISASTER.
Why am i even trying. Hey fatties go ahead and get fat. You will die early and not only will you give us more job options, the lines will be shorter!
if that statement can't get you motivated then what will?

Invertalon:
Funny thing is, we dont give a "F***" about your comments either.
The ride operators agree with me and not you. They are obviously sick of your whining.

America is getting bigger, and being a ride op I would hear it from plenty of people everyday. Everytime we would have somebody try the test seat we would say that their ride is still not guarenteed. Us ride ops just do what we are told and relay rules, its not fair when people come on here and complain about a certain ride op or us in general about relaying rules and messages. If I came into your work and I tried to do something that wasn't right you would stop me, and thats what we do.
Invertalon: I actually wish I was blind so I couldn't read what you have to say. You, in my perspective are completely incompotant of thought that should be even considered intelligient.
Damn, I thought you die Adam. Honestly, you don't no about other peoples probs with rides. All you do is come on here and bash Fat people.
First off if you look at the rides that are made HERE, you will see that they do not have a seat belt problem. Lets take Maggie, made where and By who?? CCMR who made what also?
Now, Intamin is where? Do they have smaller people there where they come from?
Now let make things more fun since you think you know it all. I'm 5'11 275 muslcar waist size 42. Now how come I can't fit on MF BUT I can fit on Jr Gemini with my son.
So Mr. Adam think about it really close cuz it seems like you dunno your a$$ from a hole in the ground. Euff said, end of story!!

Adam -
Let me get this straight. You think it's ok that people should try the test seat and fit, and then stand in line for (potentially) 2 hours, and then not get to ride?
Steve
I've been watching PointBuzz for a while now and have never posted but when reading this thread I thought I would share something that my father and I noticed back in May.
When we were on MF we both had trouble getting the belts attached, but could get them with some struggle (we both have 36" waists). They were just tight. A slight shift of my wallet helped a bit but not a lot. On TTD we noticed it was much easier to get in and get buckled, plus we almost had a couple of inches of slack. When we went back and forth between the rides I tried to determine the difference. I couldn't notice anything until suddenly I had a MF belt that buckled easily. My dad still had problems and I checked his out and noticed the difference.
On MF many of the belts go over the triangular metal framework on the lower, back corner of the seats. The one that fit went under, giving me almost an extra two inches. Most of TTDs belts were under the framework. The next time I got on MF I took the time to run the belt under the framework (which took less time than fighting to get it connected and pull out a half inch of slack) and never had any problems after that.
So, if you fit sometimes and don't other times I suggest making sure the belt isn't going over something in your pocket and then making sure it is running under the framework.

Is it just me, or has resentment for overweight people become even more intense around here than resentment for smokers?
And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun
Apples and oranges. Fat people don't spew adipose tissue over everybody downwind of them.
Anyway, I don't resent smokers. Love the smoker, hate the smoke. ;)

Adam,
First off, to call me incompetent and unintelligent is quite ignorant to say the least. You know nothing about me and my level of intelligence.
Second, your "points" are completely irrelevant and worthless. If you look, I’m not the ONLY one that really disagrees and finds your points about this topic ignorant. I’m not trying to start anything, because you know, internet fights are *so* cool... But on a side note, do I *really* care how long you have been going to CP? Really... Do I care?
I’d done “arguing” with you… I have more constructive things to do with my time.

Wow dude. Are those muscles you worked hard for?
Man I just took the time to read this entire thread.
I gotta say that this is obviously a controversial subject.
I am wondering why alot of people are even replying to this guy so called as Adam.
It looks like to me that he is trying to start an argument, and is enjoying the replies to his post.
He has a decent argument though, even though he doesn't know how to properly present it.
One problem I see is that his posts don't corrispond with the topic. If the seatbelts differ from seat to seat, then yes that is a problem Cedar Point needs to fix. Seriously though I have been to CP many times and have only seen people of incredible size be told that they may not ride.
This is just an observation. Don't burn me for it.
I wont even bother trying to get on MF anymore. It's just too flustrating, and that's the only problem I have with CP
And if you've ever been flustrated, you know what he's talking about. Ouch. ;)

Interestingly, my 'near miss' came on the yellow train, and I have seen here that other people have had the same problem with that train.
Thankfully, I wouldn't have been able to ride if it wasn't for the helpful ride op. He also made sure I was able to get the belt latched. I was sitting there shocked thinking how did I have an inch or more of slack on the red and blue trains, and now, 30 minutes later, almost not make it on the yellow train???
