Possible theories on enthusiast "disappointment"

Ohhh forgot about Cali Screamin. Is that the only one though? I can't think of any recent Intamins that have mid-course breaks. At least ones with a normal amoutn of trains.

For all of you that think it might be short, I read somewhere that there might be 3 trains. Maybe a mid course brake?

Well, Xcelerator has 3 trains, doesn't it? And there's no mid course brake...

You can have three trains without a midcourse break, just do what they did with Millennium, build brakes at the end, an unloading station, and a loading station.

If you meet me and forget me, you've lost nothing. If you meet Jesus and forget Him, you've lost everything.

If they're going to have 3 trains, they're gonna have to make it slightly longer than Xcelerator, which is kind of a givin, though I think that the unloading/loading station would help.

How can anyone be disappointed about the new ride? We don't even know what it is yet. All we know is some colors and who is making it, so i ask how can you be disappointed that were getting two coasters in two years.
Because "enthusiASSts" always complain about aspects of rides...just look at all the people complaining when it hasn't been announced.

The whole point of this thread comes from a hint that Jeff dropped, in which (to paraphrase) he said "while enthusiasts might be disappointed with one aspect of this ride..." So that's why we're talking about it.

The color scheme... if it is red/white/blue plus yellow supports is what's going to get me. The yellow just doesn't seem to fit in there. And ride time. But if it's a fast launch and has great elements then the ride will do what it needs to do in that short amount of time to "wow" us all.

"Your obssesed w/ that place aren't you?"

I would hate it to be short or to be a clone, but being a clone would be worse.
Ya we would not want to do what Sux Flags does with cloneing most of their rides.

I'm not worrying about height or speed. It really isn't like CP to build a ride that isn't the "biggest, fastest" of something.

It's gotta be ride length.

Xclerator is basically a filler ride like Wicked Twister, yes,the beginning is intense but after the first shot up and down the hill, it just does a few turns, oh ,wow. I view it like wicked twister, nothing to sneeze at, but not really a full length circuit coaster like MF or Magnum. It's just that first shot that makes the ride, then it's a few overbanked turns, watch the video of Xclerator, it just looks so short it seems like a waste of space.
We all pretty much know the ride duration will be somewhat lacking due to the sheer speed this thing will move at.

Having said that, I personally won't mind a short ride cycle so long as they do something creative after the launch and first hill. I'd be slightly disappointed if they threw in two overbanks after the hill and called it a ride. Cedar Point already has a ride which puts Intamin's overbanks to excellent use, I'd like to think they'll go for something a bit different here.

Even if the ride turns out to be just the top hat and two banked turns like Xcelerator, that's cool with me. My favorite part of Millie is the banked turn right after the drop.

That is, in my opinion, the most likely reaction that enthusiasts are going to have to the finished layout of this new ride, especially if Jeff is seriously thinking that many people WILL be disappointed.

And that is exactly what Xcelerator is! I hope CP will make more of a total ride experience out of the Rocket Coaster design, not just a launch and overbank turn ride to the station.

It really isnt cedar point's style to shorten a ride to the size of excelerator. I would definetly anticipate some bunny hops a helix but only one top hat.
