You got the GOCC president to show up, so I'd call it a success. :)
We'll definitely try another meetup later in the season.
Sorry this didn't work out the way we hoped. It was great meeting those who showed up. I'm up for a more official gathering put on by the admins later in the season.

We missed the meetup by 15 minutes or so because we lost track of time when we stopped back at hotel breakers for a short break.
Thabto and Shawn, I didn't realize it at the time, but I believe my group of 3 was on the shuttle bus with you guys up to the front gate in the morning. We were already on the bus when y'all got on. We were up front on the passenger side by the door. I had reflective sunglasses on and was wearing a green Bob Marley shirt. My sister was next to me and my buddy was sitting next to her.
I had an orange Fury 325 shirt. Was I on the bus?
Thanks for trying to organize an event. Even though it was short-lived and only a few people showed up, I think there is potential to do another one. I think a more official one put on by Walt or Jeff would be the way to go, they got more resources than we do. One of my issues was that I had 2 non-PB members in my group and I left them for a little bit, but I didn't want to abandon them too long.

Yup, that was you. Next time I'm at the park and I see you, I'll have to introduce myself. I won't be back out that way until June 20/21st.
I agree that something setup by Jeff or Walt may have a better turn out, but who knows. I figured that this would have had a decent turn out, but people loose track of time or things come up and next thing you know, you miss out.
I'm up to try it again later in the season.
Five people was one better than I got trying to do a ride takeover meetup at Kings Island for Coasterstock. It's hard to do things like this with an already-packed event schedule. Varying cruise times were a big issue here.
If this is attempted again later in the season, I'll probably try to attend. Thanks, K.R., for all the effort in finding an agreeable date & organizing this - even if most people forgot to show up, were trying to catch a cruise, were taking a mid-day nap, etc!
Aside from bigger gatherings as this was intended to be, it would be nice if the "meetings & gatherings" forum here got more traffic. Members who end up going on the same day should find each other if so inclined.
I agree. We had every intention of trying to make it, but just ran out of steam after lunch and had to go back to the camper for some rest. Otherwise I would have never made it through the nightime ERT. Something later in the season would definitely be great!
I screwed up. After lunch(a double serving),being stuffed, went to western trail to rest in the shade. Fell asleep(didn't intend to) for 4 hours. Oh well.
So who are the members in the pic ?

Best pointbuzz gathering I ever went to was the STR commercial shoot! There were so many of us there!
I'm too sexy for my harness!

I wonder if it might not make sense to designate a regular time and place where interested PointBuzzers could optionally meet on *any* given day to determine if there are fellow correspondents in the park.
8:45am at the Marina gate is a pretty good bet to find enthusiasts, but that misses those staying at the Resorts & those who aren't early birds.
Realtime posts from the park are generally frowned upon here (because they tend to be noise), but perhaps a periodically cleaned "who's at the park right now" thread could make sense?
If it's all kept in one thread I don't imagine it should be an issue but Jeff's call on that. Personally I don't do 8:45 am once the school year is over ;)
Nor do some of us ever go to the Marina gate. Being the first on Millie that day is of no value to me or several people I know. My morning will be spent in the back of the park, or along the beach. Serious, go enjoy the beach instead of ERT. You'll thank me later. But Millie is very low on my to do list.

One of the more interesting aspects of enthusiast meetups is that people appreciate parks in different ways. Good conversations can develop.

That would be Charlotte the someday Pointbuzzer in training. ;)

That's probably where you'll see me Thursday morning. We'll be camping at Lighthouse beginning tomorrow afternoon with four white dogs.

With the peak season quickly approaching, should we try again? (Any thoughts on a date, or would people like someone to set up opinion polls again?)
I'm personally a fan of midnight close Fridays, so my vote would probably be for one of those. My schedule can usually be flexible with advance notice, though.
