Platinum Pass Questions/Concerns

CP rush's avatar

I'm going to be buying a platinum pass this year and I had a few questions that I couldn't answer based on CP's website and I was hoping some of you could help.

If I buy a pass online does it get mailed to me? or do I still have to take a picture etc. at the park.

If I buy my pass on opening day, do I pay for parking?

What are good ways to spend ERT?

If I bought a regular pass last year, do I have to provide my info + picture again? or can I renew it but as a platinum.

Thank you very much

If they already have a picture on file, you should be good to go to get it through the mail. If not, you'll have to go in to get your picture taken.

If you wait till opening day, you may have to pay for parking. If you bought it online and have the voucher, you should be able to just show the voucher at parking and be good to go. If you don't have a voucher, or that doensn't work, then pay the 10 bucks and take the parking tag with you to the Season Pass Center. They'll refund your 10 bucks.

Well the season pass center is going to be open for the season on april 22nd. they are open from 11-7 on the weekends. Perfect excuse for a day at CB.

The season pass hours at Cedar Point kinda suck for me personally. I was hoping the season pass center would open at least a weekend before Kings Island opened. I was planning on visiting Kings Island April 24-26 but there is no way I can get to Cedar Point on April 22 or 23 to get our vouchers processed. Since you can not renew through the mail or at another park....Im just out of luck and will not visit Kings Island.

Can't you bring your voucher to Kings Island for use as admission? I though I read or heard that somewhere.

Yes, you can just bring the voucher to kings island.

This is part of the reason I just get my season pass at kings island instead of cp, because I don't have to worrie about getting it prossesed before opening day. I got it taken care of closing weekend last fall.

what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.
Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.
I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

Now that you mention it, I thought I read that somewhere too. Just dont remember where. I looked on CP's website and cant find any info on it. Ill just have to call the park office and see what my options are. Surely they have expected this to come up.

Ok..found the answer to my own question on a previous thread. Here is what Tony said about it:

"Asa general note, PLEASE PROCESS YOUR PASS AT THE SAME PARK YOU PURCHASEDIT AT! If you are visiting a park that opens earlier than we do, bringyour 2009 voucher - it will give you admission to the park withoutprocessing. All parks should be processing their own Season Passes.Obviously, this is for Platinum Passholders only."

It should be noted that there are no mail renewals again this year. Even if you had a pass last year you will need to get your picture taken again. I believe they said this would be the last year you'd have to do that.

That is great about being able to use a Cedar Point Voucher to get in to Kings Island, my husband and I wanted to go to Kings Island on our way to Cedar Point this spring but couldn't figure out how!

Ok, I'll give it a go...

You print out a voucher and then bring it to the park for processing. You will still be issued an ID card and will get your photo taken.

If I buy my pass on opening day, do I pay for parking?

Yes. You will be reimbursed for it at the Season Pass Center.

What are good ways to spend ERT?

Ride, ride, ride, ride. Boost your coaster count.

Yes. We hope that this is the last year that you'll need a new card. If all goes well, you'll keep your same Platinum Pass card and just renew it wihtout having to visit the Season Pass Center. Details in the fall.

Thank you very much

You're very welcome.

Hey Tony, you may not have noticed but that was your 50th post. Better watch out or they'll start thinking you're a regular around here . . . ;)

Do they still sell season pass vouchers/cards at Drug Mart?

When you enter for morning ERT how do you get passed the gate? Do you go to the left side of the ticket taker enterance so you can bypass the public crowd or do you have to go through the public and upto the employees infront. Sorry for the dumb question its my first year with a platinum pass

You can bypass the ticket booths and go straight to the gates where season passes are accepted and swiped. Look for signs above the gates that accept season passes. Once inside the park, you will see that the midway is gated up by Raptor. You will need to show your platinum pass to an employee at the gates to get into the park for ERT. There is usually a sign near the gates directing platinum pass holders to the proper gate entrance into the park. Then proceed to Millennium Force and ride for two hours.

^ With the new admissions system they installed last year, there is no longer a season pass turnstile. Season passes and regular tickets all go through the same turnstiles now. The rest of your description is accurate though.

That stinks! I mean pass holders pass the price to have some extra fun, now it is like we are cattle!

First of all, you aren't required to purchase a Platinum Pass. If it doesn't seem like a good value, don't buy it.

That said, if you're annoyed because you're unhappy being stuck with the "cattle" at the front entrance, then you're doing it wrong. :)
