Photoshops / Mock-ups

Ah yes, I just looked it up and you are right Jugga. Nevertheless, with a retiring coaster enthusiast, something tells me Kinzel has something more up his sleeve. Not saying it has to be 500+ feet or 128+ mph, just something that no other park has, something to be remembered by.

Those of you who think that Mr. Kinzel's "legacy" will be tied to any one ride are smoking crack. His legacy will be taking a company of two parks to the major amusement park player it is today and the highlight of his career will be the Paramount purchase.

It will not be about a coaster, though if any one ride becomes a footnote to his career it will be Magnum...and not Dragster, MF or anything that might be coming in the next couple of years.

I didn'y say that this ride will be his legacy. His legacy as you said will be for imagining amazing things, and then creating them. He made CP and CF what they are today. But as his last coaster, wouldn't he like to leave something awe inspiring. I would think he would like to leave on a high note, with something that sets the standard again, as he has done many times in the past.

I don't believe Kinzel gets the credit for imagining any of the coasters at Cedar Point or any of the other parks. He gave the greenlight to companies to build the rides, that is true. What he did imagine was the resort-style setting Cedar Point would take and he imagined the breadth that the company could take.

When I did that presentation (in the management class I had) on Cedar Fair, LP a few years ago, Kinzel was the focus because he's done so much for their Flagship Park.

His legacy will definitely live on as a Coaster Wars competitor- no matter what.

"THE Top Thrill Dragster...THE Millennium Force...THE Wicked Twister...THE Magnum! How do you like those apples?!?!?"

Six Flags put in as many, or more, coasters than Kinzel and Cedar Fair did. Six Flags has gone in the toilet.

His legacy will be the growth and strength of the company. As a former employee and a shareholder...of that I can be sure. The business world (those that really matter) could care less what he builds. What they care about is how what he does affects the bottom line.

A small percentage of people will fondly remember him for the Magnum, MF, etc. Few people know what Boeckling built while in charge of the point. (Actually, I guess few people know Boeckling.) But, those who knew or know of him know that he basically saved the Point.

Won't this ride be finished very early if they continue at the rate that they're at now?
Hopefully all of this speculating will be over very soon, I thought that they were suppose to tell us what it was this month?
After waiting this long Maverick hopefully will live up to it's hype.

All my life I've been an obese man trapped inside a fat man's body

September 7th is close enough to August, right? :)

SteelRaptor,

I think it depends on how big it's going to be & how much testing they have to do. I have a feeling that it's going to be pretty big.

But my other theory of the reason they're building it so fast is because it's at a part of the park that's not in the way of visitors- like the TTD or MF. Why not build it while it's still warm outside, ya know?

Here is alittle something I threw together with Rollercoaster Tycoon 2. I plan on updating everytime they add track.

I haven't hacked the 2 coasters together yet, so just deal with me.

Zero, I'm liking your idea of the tower. I'm still thinking the concept of the drop coaster which was described in another thread is a possibility. May just be wishful thinking, but with all we know now, it could well be.

I think the "tower" in there is a tower crane to build the coaster. Isn't that part of that application?

fleastcoaster, please don't quote someone's whole post when you post right after them.

referring to the topic of kinzel's last coaster, maybe work is being done right now on part of Maverick and the rest is going to be built when the season ends, allowing an easy demolition of a certain wooden coaster, leaving much room to build a colossal record-breaking coaster to retire on. That's just my opinion.

Even though that sounds crazy, the layout of the land right now limits what CP can build. Mean Streak is in the way of the record-breaking coaster and of all of CP's coasters, MS is not a big favorite.

Flying high, up in the sky,
We'll keep the blue flag flying high
From Stamford Bridge to Wemb(er)ley
We'll keep the blue flag flying high

sounds just crazy enough to work.

I am not a big fan on mean streak in the first place. It is a beautiful looking coaster but if a better one is going to be built in its place, then have at it.

This isn't Kinzel's last coaster. Mean Streak isn't going anywhere. Any questions?

your friend was going twords or over the top of Mean streak.

You know maybe it is just me, but I love Mean Streak. It is long and a lot of fun, and has that wooden coaster rickety feel, which makes it all the better.. If there was a boring woodie at CP, that would be gemini, with blue streak in close second. Though since techinically gemini isn't a woodie, then blue streak wins my award for worst woodie at CP.

halltd, I am curious as to why you think this isn't Kinzel's last coaster? He was rumored to be leaving in 2007, but with Paramount decided to stay an extra year or so. Do you really think CP will put in another coaster next year? By Kinzel's last coaster everyone refers to CP, not any other CF ride, or so I think.

I think MS is the most boring coaster I have been on. I think someone should just reconfigure it with some airtime with the ability of getting rid of that trim on the lift hill.
