I thought I made it clear I wasn't going and that it was just my interpretation. But of course some people had to shoot some holes in my interpretation. I get it you're the expert. I was just trying to explain to people that it would be worth going. You're not limited to one ride on the rest of the rides in frontier town. There is no possible way they are not selling a full serving of the new food offerings. And, don't get your hopes up, but there is a good possibility that more than one ride on SV will be available if the crowds are not what your all expecting.
I am not expecting a large crowd May 20th to the 23rd. Now does that mean I can ask for a refund if I only get one ride I have to wait 3 hours for? Is what it is. I've never been to a 3 day passholder event you can only select one day to go. My only point was that there are only x amount of passholders. So don't be expecting it to be elbow to elbow. This ride cannot be 10X better than Maverick. No way. I'd rather just get one ride if I can ride Maverick 5 times.
And food, where does anyone think that you won't be able to purchase full serving if they are preparing the food anyways? Who gives free samples without the intention of selling said product? Nobody that's who.
I think that this will be profitable for the park. A small scale party that everyone will enjoy. If you can go don't be under the impression that you only going for one ride and samples. That's the point I was trying to make.
That's exactly what I'm expecting, because that's what they told us to expect.
Having said that, I can't deny in the back of my mind I'm imagining the possibility they give us more. CP has a history of over-delivering for events like this. It would not surprise me at all if MF was open, or some other major ride. It would also not surprise me if all riders on SV got a ride photo for free.
Again, I have no expectations any of this will happen, but my own enthusiast event experiences at CP over the last 10 years have almost always featured some sort of previously undisclosed bonus. Which I've always appreciated tremendously!
I by no means would be shocked or mad if they did do anything extra outside of what they announced.
However, I don't see the point in being mad if you see trains that have empty seats or that could be half empty when they specifically said for SV you get one ride. That's all. And to go in with higher expectations for things to happen then what's been announced would just set you up for disappointment. Which is a common theme in our community (as a whole not just CP fans/enthusiasts).
Surprises are fun and nice, but I wouldn't go in with expectations for surprises. But that's me personally.
Its nice we cant debate this usless crud on here and spare our families from hearing us talk about what food will or will not be served at the coaster preview event. If not here than where? I know my folks here dont wanna hear it. Also in my opinion "sample" suggests free.
First ride; Magnum 1994
Hopefully dining plans will be able to be used at the event. I'm not expecting a "sample" to mean a full course meal, that is the opposite of sample.

Check the Q&A on the event page. Not clear if you can purchase any food however.
“Dining plan and drink plan usage will be unavailable during the Passholder FrontierTown Hoedown. “
I can have a pretty good lunch at Costco with all the samples. Of course it usually ends up costing me $300 or so.
This probably isn't a big deal but I'm curious if anyone knows if we will be able to use funpix during the event. This is the first year I've purchased the all season funpix. I've looked under FAQs but didn't see anything. Can't believe it's almost here!
Somehow I doubt it.
But ya never know, maybe as a treat for attendees everyone will get a photo of themselves on their ride.
Or something.
If the photo booths are open, then you should be able to scan your pass on the funpix self service terminal.
I don't think that FunPix will be available, but it wouldn't surprise me if it was. They won't sell One-Day, but All-Season could be available. After all, I'm sure that they've tested the on-ride photo already, whether with Tony and Jason or ride operators, so it should be working by the Hoedown.
I took my chances and tried to order tickets for the hoedown today, for Tuesday. I had no problems, everything went smoothly. My brother also ordered his today for Monday, so if anyone thought they missed out but want to go, give it a try.
I got tickets for Wed. My wife doesnt do the coasters. Any chance I will be able to use her ticket for myself?
I don’t know why you shouldn’t. But keep in mind they’re time stamped so you should consider entering the park about a half hour apart. Right?
So the people going the next 2 days for this know what to expect. This is the back of the card you get after getting your ticket scanned.

Make sure to get one, a person is handing them out as soon as you go through the turnstile. I saw someone didn't have it at the SV entrance and had to go all the way back.
There was a stub attached to the bottom that have you a time to ride SV. If you are there early and in front of line enough, you will get the timestamp of 4:30-6:00. Has for waiting in line for SV, the further up in line before entering you are plus walking fast will get you on the ride earlier. I don't know the timestamps after 6.
Also noted in the back of the card is all the samples you can get. You can go to those 6 places to get food samples, as much drinks as you want. I would definitely say it would be easily sufficient enough for a meal for a day.
Sacrificing playing video games to ride roller coasters.
Very nice selection of food. It looks like the hand breaded chicken tenders from the Frontier Inn have moved to Stockade. Happy about that as I prefer those to Chick fil A. I really hope the beef patties for the burgers have been improved over the frozen patties traditionally used as the burgers themselves sound great.
I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.
While many of you can gloat about being on the “first train” or of being able to marathon the ride during the media day, I get the dubious honor of standing in the back of the line during steel vengeance’s first major break down. Cheers to the maintenance crew. I’ll buy them each a beer if they can get the ride back up and running in a reasonable amount of time.
Tall and fast not so much upside down...
