Paint Job Information!

Well there's still 3 weeks left until Opening Day. It could be possible that part of the Mantis is painted, but it's just out of view of the webcam.

What's the fascination with paint? I mean, any ride that gets a new coat of paint will look better ... but if it isn't painted, will it ruin anyone's summer?

Not really. BUt it would look nice even if they just painted the first hill and loop before the season started. Just so it would have a better appearance from the midway.

We do know that the Blue Streak is getting painted though. It was talked about in that Blade article. I hope Mantis also gets a paint job, it needs it badly.

Mantis' paint job was changed from 2002 to 2003. Next season Manits will be painted. We're done for good now. Wicked Twister is finally set for y'all.

Seriously, if Mantis Dosn't get painted this season, which its not and I have been saying this since Feb., and finally people can start to believe me, is it really going to change the ride any??? Sure it looks good, but thats it! Its not going to change the park attendance, its not going to change the amount of people who ride it, its not going to change anything! So for al of you who love Mantis as a ride, lets go out and ride it, in all its glory!

If you look at the PT webcam there appears to be a crane on the Mantis midway by the lift, and also some activity way out by the figure eight.. could be signs of a paint job... also there looks like 5 gondolas on the Giant Wheel... things are moving quickly.

Things change man! Many people including Jeff, Anonymous, and my self who were told by folks at the park that it would be painted aren't wrong, are we (Although Anonymous's story is a bit fishy... mixing the paint? Hope it's still good in a year!)? It was supposed to be, and for some reason, it's not going to be. The fact of the matter remains that it was intended to be painted for the 2002 season

I realize that it's important for all of you to leave this thread feeling some shred of dignity has been retained, but I think you've beat this topic to death quite long enough sans arguing over who is/was/might be right or wrong.

Why don't we just wait until we get to the park this summer to see what the truth is? It can't hurt that much just to let this topic lie for the next three weeks, and see what comes from there. At least the arguing would stop before it was started. Thanks.

I don't know how you guys are seeing all these details from the PT cam. Maybe something's screwed up somewhere, but all I'm seeing is a distorted bunch of nothing with MF looming in the backround. I can barely even tell that Mantis is there let alone that it's being painted.

When the sun is in the east in the early morning usually before 1pm or 2pm, everything in the back of the park stands out reall really well. When the sun reaches the western part of the camera suddenly it's hard to make anything out back there except for Millennium Force.

Coastermania, things have changed very quickly. Our original contract did indeed include Manits. We still had a large part of the contract in tact for this year, which included wicked twister, but unfortunately we've had to put off Manits until next year, but we still have the contract for it. Don't worry.

PS - wish we got the Blue Streak contract, though. UGH, we just missed that one. Just not enough hours in the day I suppose.

The only point I am trying to make here is that maybe Jeff and his followers should listen to people sometimes because YOU ARE NOT THE ONLY ONES who know whats going on at the park! I have probably been to the park more then anyone here over the off season and i do know whats going on!

Are you done pounding your chest and grunting yet coastermaina? Monty eluded to the fact it was getting painted and thats what we went by..You would reported the same damn thing had you been told that...Move on..we have!

Not done untill I hear an apology from Jeff for belittleing me and treating me and my ideas like I was an a@#hole. I am not doing this for myself but for anyone who has ever posted here and been shot down or insulted by Jeff.

Did you know from the start it was never going to get painted? Ever stop and wonder that King Jeff and his loyal subjects were correct when they made the statement and then the plans were changed?

Wasn't there a press release a couple of years ago talking about the addition of midway fountains? Did it ever happen? Does that mean the PR Department suffers from the same "problem" as Jeff?
