Paint Job Information!

Sooo... you wouldn't happen to be allowed to tell us if we would have the pleasure of being able to ride #16 in 2003, or later, would you? Because that I'd like to know!

If I hear about this 5 year fictional plan again I'm gonna puke!

Duh! I can't believe that none of you know that Cedar Point is getting it's 16th and 17th adult flat rides in 2003.... ;)

I liked last year's April Fool's Day tricks a lot better than this year's. C'mon... green and purple? By the way, what were the tricks last year? Didn't Jeff post a news item or something?

The thing that made this one funny is that some people admitted (or lied) that they were really into those colors!

*** This is for all of the newbies and people who haven't been around here for a while. Way back in the old days of GTTP back in the spring of '99, actually it was the second week of the season I had a solo ride on magnum in the back seat. It was my first solo ride ever and personally one of my favorite rides that I have ever had on it. Being so pumped about what I experienced I came home and wrote this TR, that Tim tells everyone about when we meet in groups at the park. I swear if we could ever find that post Tim would have it framed on his wall, he talks about it more than I do. Too bad the post was on the old server and jeff lost it.

I didn't lose it... it may very well be in a zip file somewhere. Problem is, that was on the old UBB I used before I wrote POP Forums. It was a leased license, so I can't put it back up even if I wanted to.

If you look @ the PT webcam, if you look closly @ Mantis' paint you can notice a difference already, I think the started with the supports, and are starting on the track now.

DT 4 ever.....No......I was at Cp today and they were cycling Mantis, untill it broke, and there were no signs of any painting going on anywhere. Sorry

If they where painting Mantis you would see a Contractor Trailer and A Couple of Cranes around Mantis

hehehe Coastermaina, I thought that was funny you mentioned they were cycling Mantis until it broke. It's amazing what the offseason does to the rides. I imagine sitting around for a few months not in use, then being put to use would tired out the mechanisms.

You must remember that Everything is Rebuilt during the off Season. So the reason for rides breaking during this time is so that they will be able to fix it or see why it happened All Rides will go through this Phase when more Ride Op's Show up that know the procudres and can get these rides through the Testing of preseason

Alright... so is Mantis being re-painted or not? I'm hearing a lot of conflicting "evidence" as to wether it is going to be re-painted. Does anyone REALLY know? If so, your comments would be greatly appreciated. One day I get all excited because someone here says that it's "for sure going to be painted" and the next day someone else tells me it "for sure is not going to be painted"

I understand you completely. IMO Mantis is going to get painted. Now I'm getting a little nervous. A lot of people have told me it's been painted already, but I look at the webcams and see the same dull boring Mantis I saw last season. Sure it's painted but it's had that paint job since 1995. (The steel was made and painted in 95, obviously if it was to open in 96)

Have anything in the way of proof? Your word is as good as anybodies' who thinks it is getting painted.
