Overpriced hotel rooms.

CP on site is nice because i don't have to drive, but I got my room at the Hampton for coastermania, $29 per night. Can;t really argue with that.

$29 for a Hampton? Really? How did you pull that off?

I got a room for this weekend for $44 (Microtel converted to Motel 6) and that seems like a steal now (unless you wanna stay in the REALLY dumpy places).

I got a room at the hojo right by the thirsty pony, for $30 a night last weekend.

While it may be nice not having to drive, is it really worth in upwords of $150.00 a night more worth it?

what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.
Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.
I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

That HoJo looked pretty fishy but then again I stayed at Mecca last year and that place looks like a murder scene!

I stayed at the hojo a few years ago, and was not pleased with it. I found a good rate last week, so I thought I would give it another try. I was not dissapointed.

The room we had looked like it was redone not too long ago. It was clean, and the maid service was great.

I like the Fairfield for about $79-$139 a night. The best place in Sandusky.

When going to CP is a vacation for us with 3 year old twins, i will spend the extra cash to save myself from the headache of having to get in and out of a hot car multiple times a day with screaming kids. With how often we go in and out of the park to chill out in the room, go to the pool, or soak city, it is worth it in my eyes! I roll into the park for ERT, then my wife comes in at 10 or so with the kids, close to closing time, we get the kids ready for bed and either one of us can go into the park to close it out, then stroll up to the room where the kids are sleeping and its quiet and cold in the room, can't beat that. Yeah, its expensive, but its vacation!

I got an email from CP today offering $25-$100 Cedar Point gift cards with the booking of 2 nights at their resorts (for return guests only). It's too bad that I made my reservation over a month ago.

We'll miss you MrScott and Pete

The Mecca Motel is under new ownership. Used to provide shuttle service to the park. Not anymore. Used to provide a decent breakfast-good doughnuts and muffins. No longer. Have you ever tried the 18 hole miniature golf course? Has to be seen to be believed. Still, we got the executive suite, two rooms with three double beds, for less than $60 a night.

I'm not sure what the in-season rate is. But, I really like the Sandusky Inn.

Employee rates...
However i think when i looked, the rate was only $99 internet price. Still good compared to others because you won't get a dumpy room.

Not sure if that would work, since it seems to be an email deal for returning resort guests, sent to returning resort guests.

Though how long do they look back for "return guests"?

All you need is the promotional code "RETURN".

What an exclusive! :)

I'd be curious to know what the going rate is with the current RETURN promotional code . I booked Sandcastle rooms last month for $160 per night using the same promotional code - but no mention of the gift card. I'm wondering if the rate is back up to the usual $260 or so.

Vince982's avatar

I just called the park and found out I do get a gift card after all. What a great deal. I got a room in breakers for $85 per night, and when I check in I get a $50 gift card.

We'll miss you MrScott and Pete

Is that at the Breakers Express or the original?! Seems like a great deal. Is that a new reservation? If not, I'm going to call to see if I can get the same deal.

Vince982's avatar

That's at Breakers. You need to use the promo code RETURN.
