That's awesome, and I hope (and expect) many more families to bring their own food to the park. If that happens enough, things may actually improve.
Not that I'm holding my breath.

Obviously, quite a few people are willing to pay the Subway prices......there was quite a line at lunchtime, including families with kids. I wonder what Subway is charging for the kids meal?
Last Thursday (Juky 9th) we had a great picinic in the Soak City lot. We sat in the little patch of grass on the left of the Breakers Gaurd. There was about 4-6 other families having picinics. Everyone that drove or walked by look at us funny, but hey we had a great meal for 5 people for 20 dollars.

I am visiting the park soon and am contemplating bring a cooler of food. I do like to enjoy park food though so I am still not convinced whether price dictates convenience??? Does anyone know if there are menus available with pricing information for the resturants within CP?

If you plan on enjoying some park food, might I suggest another park chain (or, at least, another park)?
That said, here are the park's in-park restaurants, and here are the park's out-of-park restaurants.

Thanks, I know the park food has gone down hill quite a bit. I use to enjoy it in the 80's when I would go with my family. It doesnt upset me to pay a little more for unique food items when taking a trip to the park but I refuse to pay 4-5x the price for Subway, Chick-Filet or other fast food chains.
I think you answered my question though...I was looking for menus with prices. Judging by your response and my research, I dont think that they are available.

You won't find them. If CP printed their food prices online, fewer people would come to the park. :)

I went to dollywood this week, and paid $12 for an all you can eat restaurant(very good, high quality food) that included my drink also.
I coulden't even get a footlong sub at cedarpoint for $12.
what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.
Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.
I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.
When I visited Dollywood back in 2006, I though they had great home style cooked food. And there prices were not that bad.
Quote from a Corkscrew ride op, "And Dragster is down again"
They have yet another scam at subway inside the park now.
For only $9, you can get a 4 inch sub, small drink and wait...there is more......a cookie!!!!.

4inch or 6inch? They might be the mini sub combo that costs 5 dollars at Subways.
Chick-fil-a is better priced. Sandwich $3 drink(refilable) $1.59 for small. Good but still a tad overpriced. Will i still eat here, yes.
*By the way, go to the soak city subway. You can sit inside and is nice and cold!

At the prices they are charging for a sub at cedarpoint, I will not go anywhere near that place wheather it is air conditiond or not.

That actually isn't that bad of a deal.
Really???
At any other subway, you can get a footlong sub, large drink and a cookie for under $9.
Not looking like such a great deal anymore is it?

I suppose your local subway has the best coasters in the world also, right?? I'm sure the reason you go to CP is to eat Subway. These aren't your typical franchise locations. I personally don't mind the prices because of one major reason. I expect them. Maybe it's because I like my entertainment venues (concerts, ballgames, amusement, various tourist locations) and what they provide. And over priced shirts, hats, hotel rooms, pop (soda) and yes food are a part of the deal just about everywhere.
How long until people start complaining that a hotel room at super 8 is $49-69 in most places in the US, yet can go up to $89- $129 or more for the same thing around CP. $169 during Bike week! It's how most tourist locations make their money. Supply and demand.
I like anyone else like to save money. But also know that someone is going to spend the money and buy the food. It's not your local shopping mall, no matter what you r season pass makes you think. It's a world class tourist location. And tourists bring $$$$$. Locals plan ahead and eat elsewhere. The way these threads sound, it should be the exact prices you get at home. not going to happen, I know regular locations in the city (I live in chicago) that dont use the $5 price either. Why, because they have no trouble of finding business.

I do expect prices to be higher in a place like cedar point. Just not 3 times as much as I can get it a mile away from the park.
And it really does not help when subway has a huge nationwide marketing campane for the $5 footlongs, but cedarpoint is selling them for $13. That's a $8 differance, not 2-3 bucks.
I don't go to cedarpoint to eat at subway, but they just so happen to offer it and at crazy prices. Just because they are not your typical franchise locations, does not mean they have to scalp you when you may want one.
There are subways all around the park, so it can't cost them anymore in delivery to get the product to the park. Do they use magic bread?
Your right about one thing. Tourists do bring money to the park, the problem is that they are starting to spend it elswhere because the prices are too high.
Is that what a world class tourist attraction is all about and wants?
If you compare cedarfair food pricing to any other major park chain(minus six flags), you will see that they are double what other parks are charging.
Disney for example is a world class attractoin, but you don't see the scalping going on there on food and drink. Not only is the food prices at Disney less than what cedarpoint is charging, but the quality of the food is 10 times better.
Example.... http://allears.net/menu/men_cr.htm
Another example is busch parks. Not only is the food quality great, but the prices mirror that. I got a rib platter with sides and a drink for $12 at a busch park a few weeks ago. I can't even get a sandwich at cedarpoint for that.
Yet another example is knobles. I got a huge yero, fries and a drink for under $6.
Kennywood park...
Hot dog: $1.90.
Philly beef and cheese: $3.25.
Personal deep-dish pizza: $3.
Double crunch cone: $1.95.
Potato Patch fries: $2.25.
Taco grande: $2.
Cheeseburger platter: $3.55.
Juice: $1.65.
Turkey croissant: $4.50.
Dip-n-Dots: $2.25.
I can go on all night, but I think you get the point.

And kennywood gets it.... http://www.keatingofchicago.com/media/ssto/Kennywood.pdf
This year Henninger added a new twist, Bacon chedder fries to the menue. The 2 pound order topped with cheese and what henninger calls a "heaping" of bacon, cost's $4.95. He explains why kennywood, which allows guests to bring in there own food, has kept menue prices so modest: "if we don't, we won't get their buisness, " he says.

$3.55 for a philly!? I think that's around the price in the employee caf if I'm remembering right. Those prices are price points that wouldn't get me to blink or think twice about pulling out a card or dropping some cash. Cedar Point on the other hand, I'm trying to figure out how long I can last on the least amount of food. That usually ends up being one meal at Panda (no drink) and an order of fries or a shake in the evening, supplemented by non-bottled water. Heck, I played the price/amount game in the employee caf as well! At Kennywood I would be walking out of the gate bloated with the good kind of sticker shock from those prices!

Three things you need to fix anything in the universe: duct tape, WD-40, and a hammer. Duct tape if it moves and it shouldn't, WD-40 if it doesn't move and should, and the hammer as the last resort.
^^^ Kennywood is a much smaller park. Kennywood has much lower atendance. Kennywood gets a big ride every 10 years. They are anouncing it today. Cedar Point is alot bigger, has 3 times the staff, and Cedar fair has some debt. If these prices help bring a new attraction and pay for the electricity, staff, etc. charge $13 for a sub. It would probaly be cheaper but the subway franchise gets a bite of each sub they sell.
