Out of this world Subway prices

I've got to agree crazy horse. I feel I get good value for the meals we have when we are at Disney.

Now, I think there are parts of CP that, to be fair, aren't bad. I thought the character restaurant (name slips my mind) was fine with the kids and the Burger joint with all the singing wasn't bad. (Man, I need to get more sleep.)

But, that Subway price should be an embarassment to Kinzel and the gang.

Funny story, a magnum ride op was singing the $5 footlong jingle today.

The food is pricey at CP, but I have never really had a bad experience with it. Whenever I do go to CP, I do buy lunch and dinner. Yes, yes I know, stupid. I just never feel like going outside the park to buy something or bother bringing my own food. Now this year I have been to the Roundup (next to Maverick) and it was expensive, but I got good quality and quanity. I got a chicken finger basket and got tons of fries and chicken strips. It was very hot. The service though, not so good. We then later ate at Famous Dave's and that was very good. Prices are good at that place. The atmosphere is good and so is the service.

For me, the quality and quanity isn't the thing that's wrong at CP. It's the service (at some places) and the prices.

^ Service is a biggie! I had bought a $4.50 pretzel and it took this girl 5 min to pour me a cup of ice water and grab my pretzel. That is like a 30sec to a min job!

$4.50 for a pretzel?

I think the problem stems further than just bad service.

what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.
Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.
I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

Last I checked, you could only get white or wheat bread in the park. I'm paying $7 for a *veggie* 6-inch and I can't even get the bread I want?

Yea, where is the italian herbs and cheese...lol

^ - you know that disclaimer on the $5 footlong ads? The one that says "at participating locations"? Yeah, that's how. Franchise's can set whatever prices they want, you just look like an a-hole if you're skipping out on a national ad campaign.

For the price you are better off just going to TGI Fridays or Famous Daves.

Trying to eat at CP on the cheap? Cheapest thing they have that will inexpensively fill 2 people? Get a Johnsonville brat / hot dog for $4.49, they are a quarter pound or something. My girlfriend and I will split one of them

It works...its not the best food, but you will then be able to hold off until Steak & Shake (this is the bomb after not eating at the park all day, mow down 2 plates of fries, a double cheeseburger, 6 soda refills, and a chocolate cookie dough shake)

Or QDOBA! Yes Sandusky has a Qdoba, thank the Lord. He has answered my prayers.

This mexican fast food joint charges $6 for a burrito coming in at around 19 ounces. This might seem costly, but they are....very good and filling.

If only their rice didn't have cilantro. Damn you cilantro

I had one of those burritos last week. It was good and good value as far as CP food goes.

Chicken Queso burrito all the way. Black beans, with some green or red sauce.

This is actually what my family and I did on the fourth. We walked into the Subway and walked right back out after seeing the prices for a 6 inch. We ended up paying the same price at the TGIFridays in the Breakers Hotel that we would have at Subway for an actual meal, fast service, and a place to sit down to watch the water over the beach.

Hey! You said a J brat? Where is this located inside the park; I will be there tomorrow and like brats--nice change of pace in the eating department, at amusement parks. Hopefully you check this before I hit the sack. If not, well I guess I eat a $10 footlong at their subway;booo!

They are usually (or maybe always- I haven't paid attention) set up in front of the Dodgems and Good Time Theater. I think there's also a stand near the Snake River end of the Frontier Trail and there may by another stand or two I'm not thinking of right now.

I've got to say I was happy with the Joe Cool Cafe. I know it's pricey and I've balked at eating there because of the price. However, it was my boy's birthday and he got to pick were we had dinner. The portions for both adult and kids fare are generous making the higher price more tolerable. I had penne with meatballs (3) which came with a salad for $13-$14. A medium (8 slice) Pizza Hut pan pizza is about $13. Kids meals are about $9, they do include a drink entree, fries and apple sauce and a plastic lunch box they can keep. The food was good and the service was good too. I'd go back.

$13 for a pan pizza, but yet they charge $22 for a reg cheese and pepperoni pizza in the park....hmmm

$13 for that medium pan sounds surprisingly generous to me. I would have expected a higher markup of $16-18. When I worked at Pizza Hut about three years ago it was $10.27 with tax for a medium one topping non-sale (why I still remember that, I don't know), and I can't imagine prices have gone down that much in three years for $13 to be a huge markup.

Three things you need to fix anything in the universe: duct tape, WD-40, and a hammer. Duct tape if it moves and it shouldn't, WD-40 if it doesn't move and should, and the hammer as the last resort.

Yeah the Johnsonville Brat stands are situated through out the park, by Millennium Force / Snake River falls usually is where we got ours. Up the trail towards Maverick a little more.... kind of by Chik-Fil-A

Why is it that no one wants to compare CP to Disney? Guess who bailed on closing weekend last year to spend a week at Disney World instead? That would be me. CP lost, the rat won. That sure sounds like competition to me.

2 years running, I've missed opening day to spend time with the mouse. I haven't even been to CP this year. I certainly miss it, but not to the extent I would if I didn't get a chance to head back down to Disney in a few months. :)
