Ohio State Day at Cedar Point

Well, considering a lot of Cedar Point's guests are from the Michigan area too, I doubt he would be ridiculed as much. But on an Ohio State day, that's a different story.

Try living in Toledo... we are Ground Zero for the rivalry. I mean that literally too, Toledo is the reason for the rivalry between Michigan and Ohio.

It's split about half and half around here as to what team people like.

I enjoy the back and forth badgering of the great rivalry between Michigan and The Nuts!
I always make sure i have plenty of Michigan shirts for our visits! Exchanging "fives" with other Michigan fans in the park and the "Go Blue!"

It was really fun to run past all of the Michigan fans onto the field when we beat them to go 12-0.

Let's Get Weird.

Yeah, I'm sure it was also great seeing Ohio play in the Big Ten Championship game....oh wait, no.

I don't think we would ever see Ohio in the Big Ten Championship game... they aren't even in the big ten. ;) Now Ohio State on the other hand, just wait.

Since OHIO kicked Michigan's butt in last year's NCCA basketball Tourney,I'd think they'd remember OUr name.

Yay! I'm glad I spend a lot of my time concerned with the universities that are within my state's boundaries, and then especially the ones that aren't!

The path you tread is narrow, and the drop is sheer and very high.

LOL, great post!

I don't get all the fuss about "supporting" a university.

I went to college and got a four year degree. I paid a lot of money, for the degree. The degree, in turn, made me more money. It was an investment, both monetary and of my time.

I certainly do not go to a car dealer, buy a new car, then become a "fan" of that brand for all the great things the car did for me. After all, I exchanged my money for the car. I expect it to perform as advertised.

The whole notion of "go, xxx" with xxx being a sports team of a university, mystifies me. I don't get it.

I'll wear whatever damn colors I like to OSU alumni day at the point, and not think twice about it.

Are we not talking about the same school that is so proud to spell out "Ohio" on their field with their marching band? Same school's cheer is to spell out "Ohio"? You guys are the ones calling yourselves that. If you wish to be called anything other than "Ohio" I guess it will have to start with the fans and band. ;) Go Blue!

Yes, those are tradition, but if you are speaking of the school you do not refer to it as "Ohio" because then you would be assumed to be talking about Ohio University, which is a completely different school. Now back on topic, has anyone confirmed whether or not they will be checking to make sure you are a student or alumni?

Just got an email for that Ohio State day at CP. it says alumni, students and fans, and has the promo code Buckeyes to be entered to get tickets on CP website for $35 and does state that season passes are not valid until the 11th. You need a "Ohio State Day admission ticket" to enter

And if you buy your ticket before March 31st, you get a free all day drink wristband for each ticket purchased. Plus if you stay at a CP resort friday night, you get a free ticket for opening day

Not that im a fan, or going for that matter, just passing this along!

I got the same email today as well. If you attempt to purchase the ticket through the C.P. website, they add a $5.99 processing fee bringing the cost to $40.99. It doesn't say anything about parking, but that could be an additional $15.00. But you do get an umlimited soft drink wristband.

To set the record straight, you will most likely have to present your osu alumni card or buckid. I am a student, so I can buy the student tickets with my Buckid at the union, but the other tickets might require some OSU alumni verification at the gate. One of the endless benefits for attending THE Ohio State University!

Go Bucks!

Other endless benefits: tattoo's, cars, etc......:) Not to stir the pot or anything.

It doesnt state that any ID is required. What are the guests supposed to present at the gate if they show up before their alumni/student friend?

I doubt any will be needed.

Emails I have received have referenced Ohio State alums but have not specified that they be card carrying members of the Ohio State Alumni Association. I doubt they expect people to bring copies of their diplomas to the front gate (not even sure where mine are at this point). And how do you prove you are a fan? Wear an Ohio State shirt? Something scarlet or gray?

I suspect nothing will be required other than paying for the ticket.

I emailed C.P. two weeks ago and asked about this. "I am not an OSU student or alum, but am a fan. If I buy an online ticket, can I attend?"

And their reply was: "You have to purchase an Ohio State Day ticket. Use promo code buckeyes".
