off duty ride op and line jumping

On sunday night my friend and I jumped in line for MF so that we were near the very back of the line. We were probably say 7 people behind us. One of the guests behind us obviously knew some people on the MF crew because he talked to them through most of the line.

Anyways, we get up the loading station and notice the back seat completely open and we decide we want it. We go through the turn-style, turn around and see this genius line jumping for the backseat. Well that kind of pissed us off but we weren't going to let it ruin the ride.

Then the whole time this guy was sitting in the train he was just being generally annoying. He yelled maybe 20 times at the minimum "MF crew is the best" and "I love Jamie". (one of the female ride ops)

Now fast forward to the next day and what do we see, last nights jerk-off line jumper was in fact a seasonal employee who worked the MF crew.

Of all the people who should know better than to line jump, it would be a ride op. I wont say his name to be nice. Anyone ever had an experience like this?

Three things you need to fix anything in the universe: duct tape, WD-40, and a hammer. Duct tape if it moves and it shouldn't, WD-40 if it doesn't move and should, and the hammer as the last resort.

As if we didn't have enough of this already...

This is called "exit-riding" and is a serious offense.

Whats so serious about if he is an employye there I think he deserves to do it.

If you work at Cedar Point and if its only one guy let him go. So what if he jumps and was annoying to you. Don't report him that is just snoobish and it is what a soccer mom would do. He is having fun after work, I don't know if you have/had a job, but it tough at work at times, I think whoever works at Cedar Point and has the time off should jump in front everytime in line. He works for the park, he is one of the many to make the park a success.

The guy's a douche and I'm lumping you in that category, too.

Whether he's on or off the job doesn't matter... in both cases it would be breaking a serious Cedar Point rule.

Exactly!

Report him.

He may be but you guys are making a big deal out of nothing. Really did it hurt you in anyway shape or form that he jumped in line. Uh oh!!! he did a big no no by the so called Cedar Point rules but really did it hurt anyone? You still got to ride, and you just had to wait an extra 5 minutes so. Really did it hurt you? I can't bealive some people, how selfish some people are. A person works all day for you basically for you to have fun and you don't give the sympathy, to have an employee who works his but off all day for you guys at Cedar Point to go ahead of you in line. Do you guys know what it feels like dealing with the genral public?

Don't be a soccer mom and report people (as known as taddle on people what I don't bealive in) its just not cool.

It's one thing if a regular guest did it.... it's another thing if an employee, someone who certainly knows better, does it.

I'm sorry but you hear about people getting fired from CP all the time and they rant about it on PB in the end. Its people like Bodes, who make that happen. Let it go, if it wasn't for them in the first place you wouldn't be riding millenium force yourself.

I disagree.

Whether he is an employee or not is a moot point. He was off duty and waited in line just like everyone else. And it wasn't that I had to wait another 5 minutes because he jumped... I lost the seats I wanted on the final train of the night because he line jumped.

I live 500 miles and only get to come to CP 2.5 days a year. When i'm there I like to make the best of it. This ride op will ride the ride more than I ever will in a lifetime. And thats besides the fact that he gets in the park for free. Do you have any idea how much it costs to drive 1000+ miles round trip, pay for food, lodging, tickets and everything else? I'm the reason the guy is getting paid. Along with the fact that I don't feel I owe him anything. He applied for the job and gets paid to do it. He wasn't assigned or drafted, he chose to do it. I work in an IT department at a hospital where you're not suppose to use the internet for personal use. Now just because I program the routers and run the proxy server does make me feel that I above the rule and can peruse the internet at will. Rules are rules and they are they are there for a reason.

And besides all that, I didn't even know he was a worker in the first place. I was first pissed off because I thought he was an enthusiast and he should know better... and I was even more pissed off the next day when he checked my restraints for the very same ride.

I didn't report him then and I really doubt I will now. Nor will I mention his name or appearance. It's just annoying and I asked if anyone had experienced anything similiar. *** Edited 7/20/2006 4:11:19 AM UTC by Will_1205***

I think its pretty horrable, when an employee line jumps his/her own ride or any ride. When I was a ride op on Vortex at KI, on break we could test ride, but only if we could found an emtiy seat. Off duty you had to walk all the way through the line to get on. He must think hes a big man for doing that.

Quote from a Corkscrew ride op, "And Dragster is down again"

Report him!!! thats what I will do.

Well sorry, but thats just my opinion, and I'm entitled to my opinion. I'm just saying, if I was in line at Cedar Point and one of the employees cut in line in front of me, I would seriously reconsider going to the park. If thats how the employees are gonna act, then I don't want them running the rides.

And just if that ONE employee wasn't working, I think I'd still be able to ride MF, cause not all employees are like him.

Just because he works there gives him no right to break established rules that the park has. I wouldn't consider this something to be fired over, but definately some sort of reprimand is in order. Just like any other workplace, if you break the rules, there are consequences. What makes this case any different, MSF and raptor? *** Edited 7/20/2006 4:33:51 AM UTC by BlueStreak64***

"Firing" is often the punishment of choice at the park.
