...CP already has a ride with overbanks so why be redundant in that aspect?
Thats like saying "CP already has a ride with hills so why be redundant in that aspect" or "CP already has rides with a loop so why be redundant in that aspect". No matter what element goes on this ride, it will feel different from anyother. Just because of what its coming off of. I for one like the overbanks on Xcel more than I do the ones on MF minus the first (second hill). But just because some people (not directed at the person I quoted) do not like overbanks doesnt mean some of us dont. And that also doesnt mean that CP wont put 'em on any more of their rides.
The straight section coming out of the hill could be brakes to just slow it down some. If you were to go into a turn at that speed, banked or not, you might get too many Gs. I'm far from being even a physics student but that's just my opinion.
Does anyone know how much WT costed CP? I could look it up but I'm sure someone will know anyway. I'm just wondering because CP could have spent less on last years "coaster year" to add it to this year's budget for their "trying something new" year. In which case this thing could have a pretty big budget and be bigger than expected.
I know that even if it is a L-TH-B I'll still be there to ride it. 400' is not something to miss. But look at the other record breaking coasters, MXL and MF are long rides. They take advantage of the speed you get from their big hills. It's not like CP to waste this much potential.

The Fast and the Fearless
The WT project coast cedar point 9 million dollars and I think that they will put a lot more money in this because they say they are building for the future.
Uh, 'building for the future' is just a catchy slogan. It's not indicitive of budgetary policy for the park.

I shouldn't be surprised. My students do this too. If there's a way to interpret an experiment so that their system "wins", you can bet they'll find it, despite what the data obviously says.
And if you were scared of the alien blobs or the dot people, then I got ya ;)

Blue train always wins. . . . .Unless the red train cheats!
If you look over the past few days (since about Wednesday last week), a line appears in the parking lot, gradually gets more and more defined, and today it looks remarkably as though there is at least something stuck in the ground there - maybe just concrete footers.
Just more fuel to the fire....

Let's ride the "Sky Ride Sponsored By The Ohio Lottery Odds Are You'll Have Fun" Ride!
There simply isn't enough track for it to be anything else. And as far as the footers being taller on the far side leading from the tower? Inclined brake run, what else? There's going to need to be a whole lot of brakes to stop this thing.
Don't set yourself up for dissapointment, though. This "major thrill ride" will pack quite a punch. C'mon, how can you go wrong with a 400+ foot drop?

I may be jumping to conclusions but after looking at the picture Franklyn put up it looks to me that the supports on the left side are a little bit taller then the ones on the right but this might be the perspective of the picture. and most of you have seen this picture http://images.mp3.com/mp3s/109/resources/119/836/files/11983695.gif

After finally getting to the park again since construction started, taking a look at how the footers are aligned, and just how little track is actually on-site (and in the Soak City lot), my opinion is that this will be a L-TH-B, and nothing more. There simply isn't enough track for it to be anything else.
Well, it should be obvious to anyone that all the steel is not yet onsite. After all, we haven't seen a single peice of launch track show up yet, so I'm not buying the fact that the amount of steel onsite indicates anything at this point.
L-TH-B? Certainly possible, but I'll believe it when I see it. I think there will be at least one more element.
Granted, this isn't the same launch system as WT, but I'm willing to bet that all of our track is on Point. If this is the case, I'd imagine the launch track would be safely stored away for numerous reasons.
I think the only things left to arrive are the trains, the steel for the station, and the sign. ;)
