I actually think a replacement for corkscrew would be great with a similar use of the midway. I understand its role as a starter looper, but I rode it once this year after not riding it in years and I will never ride it again.
I really dont think floorless feel anything like an invert, if anything they feel more like Hulk and Kumba, than Raptor.
Even though The Corkscrew isnt a great ride, I just cant picture the park without it. Its corkscrews over the midway are famous and one of the most photographed places in the park. It just wouldnt be the same without it.

Maybe they can re-route the corkscrew to make it longer. That would be interesting. You could still fit something in there even if you did take out Corkscrew. Granted you won't be able to fit a 300 foot coaster in there, but thats alright.
I don't think Cedar Point needs a floorless or a flyer. Better yet not even a record breaker. Just a good coaster. Looping preferably because the park only has 3 coasters that loop out of 16. See something near the back of the park to liven up the area. Although I do not believe CP will get a coaster until 2006 because Castaway Bay was their new expansion, even though it's not part of the park, CF dropped huge bank for building it.

Does anybody know when the annoucement will be for Cedar Point? I know Geauga Lakes is on the 9th, but what about Cedar Point?
They are supposed to announce it just before the end of the year or just after the first of next year.

I thought that it was supposed to be announced on December 10th? If not then, some time before Christmas for sure.

For 2006, maybe CP will get a dueling flyer/floorless. That would definately have to count as two coasters. I doubt this will happen but it was just an idea.
Race For The Sky!
I don't understand why Cedar Point likes to annouce things so late. Are they worried about kids being over anxious or something?
Uh, no, it's called marketing and publicity. It's already been discussed here that CP had to market and promote Castaway Bay first before announcing what they'll do in the park in '05, if anything.

Here is a shocker, Proslide has said it sold 3 tornado class slides to cedar fair, we know that one is going to GL and one to MA, so can we conclude the third will be at Soak City Cedar point?
Shoot the rapids, tame and dry. Thunder Canyon, wet and laughter. Snake River Falls, soaked and smiling. White Water Landing and the old shoot the rapids, Fun and missed.
Cedar Fair owns three waterparks in Southern California, Oceans of Fun, and have an in-park waterpark at Dorney Park. I don't know what those parks have in the way of slides, but I wouldn't necessarily count on it going to SC. I'm also not sure how much more investment SC needs right now, given last season's significant improvements.
Cedar Fair had other things they wanted the public to pay attention too. The opening of Castaway Bay, the big changes in store for Geauga Lake. You don't want to overshadow your own marketing efforts, particularly if your new attraction isn't exactly going to knock the doors off the place.

I think Valleyfair!'s waterpark could use an addition, its been a while since they put the Raging River and Hurricane Falls in, (1994?)
CP is the Place to Be!
I'm sure they'll make an announcement before Christmas. That gives everyone enough time to get people season passes for Christmas.
