Worked up? I don't think so, at least not when it comes to roller coaster discussion. I come here to read about the park I love, that's all. That I sometimes get sucked into endless debates about other topics is not something I enjoy, and I'm trying hard to avoid those situations.

If you look beyond whatever personal vendetta you have against some of us veterans and grasp what we're trying to do, it might make more sense.
Ah, if only I was a "veteran" and had the Jedi powers of one, then this would all make sense! Thanks for clarifying that.
BTW, I wasn't really trying to call you out personally here (nor do I have a vendetta against "veterans"), I just find it funny some folks here seem to have a self-perceived higher sense of what's right and wrong when it comes to message board posts. You realize how crazy that sounds, right?
^You sound kinda crazy too..
You're catching it

^^Then I shall say it a different way/tone. There are some on here that have been around long enough to see trends come and go. For some, it's annoying and for some it's just par for the course considering newcomers. I can't speak for everyone in how they go about dealing with these issues, but for the most part, it's usually handled just fine. I myself get annoyed and I may slip here and there, but I strive to be fair and considerate when I post or suggest things.
Once in a while, a topic will come up and get out of control. Tensions rise, fingers are pointed and a line seems to draw in the community between the 2 apposing views. When you see this happen as much as some on here have, it gets old. Some are more bitter and condescending in their responses and some are just trying to bring things back to earth.
I wasn't suggesting that veterans are privileged or are somehow better than newer members. Just that we see and respond to things on these forums in a different way than how you might.
There will always be arguing.....that's just the way it is. There will be users that get under your skin....that's just the way it is. But don't hinder the conversation by throwing out posts like the one you did yesterday. No one called anyone a dork, you brought it up first. And all the posts that were made with the "it's too early" undertone were worded in a non aggressive manner. Then you chimed in to suggest that the overall consensus is somehow victimizing those wanting to talk about a new coaster. And that is NOT the case in anyway.
I said it once, I'll say it again. The ONLY thing that's being suggested here and now is that it's too early for a topic like this and that this discussion can be taken to a more deserving topic. I'm not (and I know others aren't) trying to hinder any discussion. I know you've seen a lot of topics get out of hand, but please don't make things worse than they have to be in this case.
Look, I'm not trying to be an a$$ here and I don't mean to if that's how you see it. I understand what you're saying, but I'm telling you that that is not what's going on here.
Is what I'm suggesting really that out there or unfair?

I've only been on this forum for a few years, but I've participated in countless online discussion mediums all the way back to the early 90's when I had my own BBS. This was probably before your time, but I can tell you that nothing has changed in all these years. I see the same patterns repeat themselves over and over. You would think that would make me wise enough to just keep my mouth shut, but apparently I am not a quick study.
In reference to the usage of the word "dork", while you may label that name calling, realize it was meant to be light-hearted and notice that I cast the first stone at myself. I'd use the same term on any forum where people (myself included) go way over the top obsessing about some really obscure thing or topic.
Some forums seem to have a great community where nobody hardly ever fights or disagrees, while others are just nasty. I'd put this one somewhere in the middle, maybe a 6.5 out of 10 on the nastiness scale. That's high enough that I need to do a better job abstaining from some of the more controversial stuff, cause there are certainly some folks on here that love nothing more than to fire people up and have endless debate.

Speak for yourself, Adam.
;)
Promoter of fog.
Here's my take: McClure will want to quickly make a name for himself as Cedar Point's new general manager. The most effective way to do that is by adding a coaster that will gain him national attention. I'd expect a new coaster sooner rather than later, like in the next two years.

I very highly doubt that getting the park GM national attention has any influence on the decision to install a new coaster.
I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.

and yet nobody mentioned Valleyfair yet. :(
It appears the Water Park is getting upgraded first though, which I'm absolutely fine with.
i have heard rumors that in 2015 of a B&M Dive coaster. I would love that to be true I remember riding Griffon as my first B&M dive Coaster and it was awesome.
Yes, How about a dive coaster that starts by turnpike cars, diving underground and or rising above the area infront of coasters restaurant and then making its way behind corkscrew... That would make a major statement right through middle of park without being too intrusive to traffic flow...
Due to CP being where it is, I don't think we'll ever see anything go underground. There will just be way to many water issues.
