News: Pieces of Cedar Point's mystery ride revealed

Has anyone noticed that size of that piece? It seems as though it's quite a bit bigger than any pieces from Millennium Force or Top Thrill Dragster... does anyone think that this may mean something?

I hate to admit it. Aquatrax it looks like.

They are gonna need alot of Blue Tarps to cover that up!

Look at the size of the track and how far apart the places for supports are.... now look at this picture; especially to the left.

As much as I absolutely hate to admit it, I kind of agree with Keith_2005.

Ya....I'm with Keith 2005 on this one. I would like to think otherwise, but that is definately the most likely answer to all the questions in my opnion. Take a look at the track for Atlantis Adventure in South Korea. Notice the similarity?

uh.......what am i missing here guys?? that aquatrax track looks identical to MF track as well. there's NO difference.

But it's much longer, which might imply that it doesn't have to withstand the force that a Millennium Force train would exert on it.

that piece of track is no longer than MFs track. you're sense of scale is just thrown off because you see a person standing right next to the track which is something you don't see at the park.

actually, an aqutrax cart would require more structure placed closer together than would a train. With a train, the load is distributed over a greater area, whilst the aquatrax boats concentrate a load over a smaller area. Kinda like walking on thin ice, dont stand on one leg.

Okay, I see your point there halltd. And now that I think about it, I believe it was Jeff who said it would "change the industry," and really don't think an Aquatrax would change the industry.... Well here's to hoping it's not a Aquatrax. :)

Give me a break. That track could belong to virtually any Intamin coaster made in the last six years.

So who is the person at the park that insists on covering the track? Doesn't that seem really silly, or perhaps even stupid, at this point?

We all know this will be a intamin rollercoaster. I can't
wait to stay now at the breakers express. Will the same
seat belt requirements be in effect as on the dragster and
millennium force? Or do you think they will install otsr's like
on storm runner? I found them to be comfortable.

...or it could still be for a mega-looper. That piece of track seems as though it would fit perfectly on this cobra roll right before the train goes into a half corkscrew.

I seriously doubt it will be an aquatrax. In depth themeing hasn't been CP's strong suit, and I doubt they will try to attempt it.

Jeff's comment on the industry changing thing has nothing to do with this ride, really. It probably has to do with the Paramount parks being sold or something.

Why are you already thinking about the restraining system? We don't even know what the ride is...

jeff, they don't want the red paint to fade and turn pink in the hot summer sun. ;) its going to be laying in that field for quite some time. i don't think its good on the track to get wet either. :)

And who said CP relationship with Intamin was what???

The only thing that is throwing me off is the fact that they are using WWL's station. I thought about how TTD's unload is on a curve (is there any other coaster that does this?), so it is possible to have a train in there. But why would they want to do that?

CP is letting the hype go above and beyond all of their past projects which also leads to me thinking this is going to be something a little more revolutionary than what a Aquatrax offers.

Who says it will run on the top of the rails? I'm betting on an entire new restraint system...
