Hmm. Northern Illinois. Texas. Cincinatti. Penn State. I believe the Bucks are 4-0. Great idea, though.

This is a good idea for them though. If the weather holds up, I can imagine they will gather quite a crowd watching the game. I guess they won't be showing their classic horror films that they usually show.

^ That's a big assumption to make (about an OSU game not being a horror show).

^ Only when they're bringing on the massacre to U of M. :)

Certainly not something I would've guessed CP would have done, but I think its a nice idea.

We've talked about it before on here. A few people said it could never be done. A few others said it would never be done.

Well, the Ohio state mascott does look like a large terd, so I guess that is kind of scary.

Sorry....was in a hurry when I was typing.

what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.
Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.
I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

^ Now, I'm not a fan of OSU, but if you are going to rip on a school (any school) get your spelling right.

Definitely a nice idea!

Will they have a beer cart (or 6) out in front of it? They'd bring in a LOT of money that way.

This goes back a LONG time but Geauga Lake used to show Brown's games on their queue line tvs. I assume CP has to get permission from the NCAA and the two teams.

Well the 6 beer carts is about enough for me and a few of my buddies... What are you gonna drink?

Hey, I can watch the game from the Red Garter, it'll just be "backwards". :)

This may be a stupid question, but will there be audio? When the show the black and white movies at night, there is no audio.

Just wondering.

There is audio. Its piped in through the speakers along that midway. Its not cranked up though, so you can only hear it when within about 10 feet of a speaker.

Why would they need permission to show the game? Wouldn't it be like going into a bar that was showing the game? It is on regular broadcast (free) television on ABC, so they shouldn't have to get permission, I would think.

It could be because CP charges an admission fee.

During most sporting broadcasts, you'll hear something like:
"This broadcast is the property of X. Federal Law prohibits the retransmission or rebroadcast of any part of this telecast without the express written consent of Y."

I think I may have missed some stuff, but that's what it boils down to. I'm not sure though, if that law covers the broadcasting of the original broadcast, i.e. showing it live.

You just answered your own question, Jugga. retransmission, rebroadcast. :) Since they can show games in Game Day Grille and Donut Time, I wouldn't think there would be a problem with showing it on the midway on the big screen, since it is using the same feed as the TVs in the food venues.

Three things you need to fix anything in the universe: duct tape, WD-40, and a hammer. Duct tape if it moves and it shouldn't, WD-40 if it doesn't move and should, and the hammer as the last resort.

I believe that this law also covers live transmissions as well. When I worked aas a bar manager a couple of years ago we could not charge a cover charge for the night when our drawing attraction was the OSU-Miami Natl Champ. game. We had to wait until the game was over if we wanted to charge a cover. According to the owner it had something to do with the licensing of the telecast and the capacity of the building. Just like when we would order boxing or wrestling PPV's we had to pay abpout $400 apiece for them because of our large capacity, not the normal $50 you would pay at home. Now seeing that this obviously isn't CP's only draw(who's gonna pay $40 to see a game on a jumbo tron and not do anything else there) they may be able to do it. I noticed that they said in the artilce that this is the first time that they have ever done this at the point, but I swear that I remember them doing this last year for a game. OSU -Micchigan maybe? I'm not too sure.
