I have a couple of comments after reading the past couple of pages. First off, thanks to those who threw compliments my way, as it's nice to be welcomed into the "club" so to speak, with friendly words. That hasn't always been the case at coaster enthusiast sites. I feel like though I may not post a lot, when I post something I want it to be meaningful, and matter.
Secondly, I have to re-itterate that some of what I posted is less concrete in my mind than other things. The fly-over Lake Erie was one of those: an idea that is more fun to think about than a probable reality. The removal of the Antique Cars also would fall into this category, as I do think that their placement back there in Frontier Town is very fitting, and it would be a shame to see them go when you can certainly build a coaster over such an attraction, as CPAlumni mentioned.
As for the types of coasters, I do think that we will see a Floorless, and though I know Flyers aren't the most popular coasters amongst enthusiasts, the general public does like them, and contrary to what I hear online a lot, kids are itching to ride them as soon as they are tall enough. The whole "flying" concept is very appealing to many people, of all ages and genders. Certainly with the current topography of the land back in that area, there are plenty of fun and unique features that could be employed on a Flyer.
That being said, I also think that the water-coaster idea makes a lot of sense as one of the two coasters, as it would certainly help fill the gap created by WWL's departure. I am also intrigued by the thought of a B&M traditional sit-down looper like Dragon Kahn, Kumba, or Wildfire, that could set the inversion record. While it seems that coaster design has gone the way of the dinosaur as of late, it's always possible it could be brought back here at CP.
One thing I do have to say in that regard, and this dovetails with another point I wanted to make, is that the Floorless model now seems to BE B&M's standard sit-down looper model. With the Floorless, you are getting everything you had with the traditional sit-down looper, but you are adding the unique Floorless element, which adds a small measure of thrill to the ride. When you have an option like that available, it doesn't seem like you'd want to add a version with a floor, as it seems like a step down. This also relates to the comments I hear a lot about CP not wanting to compete with Geagua Lake. If you view the Floorless as the new sit-down looper from B&M, there is no reason not to add one to CP when GL has one. Just because GL has a coaster with a lot of inversions, doesn't mean you can't have a coaster with a lot of inversions at CP. The average person (non-enthusiast) doesn't really distinguish between the Floorless and traditional models anyway. They wouldn't look at CP getting a Floorless and say "Gee, now I have no reason to go to GL to ride their Floorless!" They wouldn't be going there for that specific type, because to most people, a Floorless model is just a multi-looping coaster, nothing more specific.
A Flyer would certainly be a little more type-specific in the general public's eyes, but I still don't think you'd see a lot of people comparing it to GL. If people are only going to GL to ride the Floorless and Flyer there, and would stop if CP added them, then Cedar Fair has already lost the battle in bringing GL back to being a popular and profitable destination. I would certainly see spending a lot on making Soak City bigger as more of a direct competition to GL than adding a Floorless or Flyer to CP. That's where the heavy investment is going from CF to GL right now, and where they are resting a lot of their hopes for that park's revitalization.
I also wanted to mention Screamomatic's drawings. First off, very good job, crude as it may be, of putting your thoughts down in that manner. You can tell you put a lot of time and thought into them, and that's great. I just saw your pics and heard your proposal for that area for the first time, so it was nice to see some other person thinking along the same lines. One comment I would have in regard to them, and the idea of an expanded midway, is that I still think a new path would cross over the train tracks. It's not that substantial of an extra expense, and the extra benefit of connecting the main pathway to the Mean Streak is too much to pass up if you are going in that direction anyway. Mean Streak needs all the help it can get, and I think that is a pivotal part of the whole Frontier Town revitalization. Make MS be a part of the whole themed area, not just an outsider relegated to the "other side of the tracks". Believe me, if more people walk by it on a daily basis, more people will ride it, roughness issues or not!
One last note, I think KevinJ may have the right idea when he talks about a theming shift in regard to Frontier Town, shifting eras a little and moving more towards an "Americana" feel. I still think it will retain a lot of that early frontier feel, but definitely have a more patriotic tone to it. Good job pointing that out KevinJ!
That's all for now, as I've gone and dropped another huge post on you! I'm sorry, but when I post, I really feel the need to do it in as thorough yet concise a manner as possible, and long posts are often the result. I thank you all for bearing with me!
Take care and God bless!

I'll say it again: It's gonna be a water/hybrid coaster. The next generation "flume", if you will.Just a hunch, on my part.

I have had this same feeling for a while now.
I think MrScott has it.
I'm guessing CP isn't going to let the pond where the Swan Boats were go to waste. Wave Swinger will be moved in the process as well.

^Actually, here lately I have been shifting my idea to this as well. There are a few things that helped convince me;)
And these have nothing to do with the fact that you just so happen to work at the park?:)

Pictures? It's really fun when people put there idea in a picture... (like, draw it...)
I've never really liked the whole Water Coaster idea, It's probably because I hate getting wet... I liked WWL though, I liked how I pretty much didn't get a splash of water on me, even on the large drop/water splash it had.
Btw, I forgot to mention that the what I'd really like to see there is a kickass GCI woodie, to bad that probably wont happen...

A question to bring up about any ride that has to do with water is 3 out of the 6 months CP is open (May, Sept., Oct.) can be somewhat cooler out. People don't go on water rides when its cold. You could say those months aren't busy times, but look at the past years, Sept. and Oct. pull bigger crowds each year. They'll have to be creative in order to make me enjoy a coaster/water ride when it's 55-60 degrees.
Notice how I say enjoy, because I'll always ride it, but I'll be the one with the hoodie on covering my face avoiding the any skin from getting wet. :)

As for the making a path that loops by Mean Streak, I think they could get away with something that doesn't go over the RR tracks. If you just bring it around and connect it in front of the RR station, you'd still be making a loop. Granted, it wouldn't put people right at Mean Streak, but I think it would still generate a lot more traffic in that direction.
And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun
It's gunna be one big ass water ride if they put one in ;)

Honey, you're gonna need to feed the kids tomorrow night, I won't be home from work until late.

You'd me more effective, MsScott, if you could change your "Joined" date. I've been here for 7 years. You've been here for 1 day.
Get a life and move on.

Look in the upper right corner of you screen and look at the "joined" date. You joined today and started your crap. I've been here for years. Is that clear enough for you?
I'm sorry to say that this thread will be closed soon, due to this situation. My apologies to the webmasters for my envolvment in this.
