With all this news, it seems like Skyhawk is going to get very little attention from us fans......untill they start testing that is. But even then it'll probably be like: "Oh cool Skyhawks testing.......anything new at the WWL site!!??" :)

RIDE ON, and ON and ON and ON and ON and ON...
Lets be honest here, whats the big deal? I mean this stuff should be expected. If they weren't going to pour footers now, then why would they have taken down WWL last fall. I mean the footers for Dragster's tower were already poured in march and april of '02.
I feel sorry for people who don't drink. When they wake up in the morning, that's as good as they're going to feel all day.
Actually the footers for Dragster were poured on April 2nd. That's a full months difference between the pouring of these footers. And there's more than one footer so it began even sooner.

You are wrong about the estimated size of that footer. Take a look at the tarp. Just sizing by comparison, the visible part of that footer is much bigger than 3' by 6'.
I'm surprised no one has mentioned what is under the blue tarp. That may be much more interesting.
Of course, by the shape and grain lines of the aforementioned slab of concrete, I can say with complete certainty that it will be a new Arrow dueling 4-D that not only submerges underwater, it has a special frozen-over segment AND has a revolving resturaunt at the top of its 500 foot LAST hill (first hill size is undetermined at the present time due to insufficient information).
If you guys subscribe to the CB podcast, you'd know that Jeff already knows what it is. I'm surprised he hasn't commented in this thread yet :)

Fuji-Q in Japan.
Earlier pouring of footers doesn't mean a bigger ride than Dragster. It could mean there are just more footers to pour in total, more work to do in general so they want to get an earlier start, or they might just be starting construction and announcing it earlier in the year, like they did with Millenium Force.
Plus that footer doesn't look as big as the ones at the base of Dragster's tophat anyway.

So, just to add on the that BT thing. I looked at what BT01 and BT02 were, and they are just the WWL station, and the RR track that was moved, (Both of which we saw in previous blog updates) so I think that BT does not stand for the name of the coaster. BT04 has not yet been created...man, that would have been really cool to stumble upon.
So even though I don't thinkg BT has to do with the name, Bear Trap is my favorite one that has been thrown out so far.

Please read bold words. :)
As for what's under the tarp.....well it's a footer right? So what do they use for securing a support to the concrete as well as for overall reinforcement?
Answer=rebar.

I would say you are probably right Adam I would say that is lag bolts sticking up out of the footers but I really don't understand why they have them covered with the blue tarp.Bad thing about it though it shows you can't put a whole lot of faith into what Tony and Tyler have to say because it was just a little over a week ago that they were saying nothing was going on.In order to have those footers in now there had to be something going on then.
You have to realize that the blog is just a tool to control what is leaked to the public. They can limit what is known and when. T&T aren't just freelance guys reporting what they find out on a whim. Everything they post in regards to construction has been approved by people higher up than them, I assure you.

It's still bad the way they did it,they didnt have to just lie about it.They could have came up with a better story than what they did, some other teaser or anything besides lie and say there's nothing going on.

Starting now just leaves them a lot of time to build the ride before the harsh winter weather comes around. That was the whole idea behind TTD's early start.
A early start could just mean lots of supports. Something like this:
http://www.rcdb.com/ig750.htm?picture=7
I don't think it is as far fetched as some think. 4D coasters have had time to develop. There's also been the rumored B&M version as well. They haven't come out with a new style of coaster for 4 years now. Can you imagine a ride like X, but smooth and engineered to perfection?
I'm just leaving that one out there, but I'm sticking to this. CP has had some nasty winters (2002-2003). Building any ride (big or small) can be a massive challenge in cold snowy weather. I believe the wind chill reached 30 below during Jan. 2003. Starting early makes that not as stressful to the park and construction crew. While MF and TTD were kind of close to the midway, WWL was not. Fence in the area and construction can start without a single disturbance from the park in August. It makes sense to me.
One more thing. I hate to use MS as an example, but it takes a long time to construct wood. ;)

X does have a lot of supports, but I believe that has something to do with the whole California having earthquakes thing. Reguardless, this is very interesting.
And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun
Could they have started early on this since the land was clear and the weather has been relatively mild (or little snow fall)? Instead of starting in April, they started in March type of thing.

cpdad:
The thing with T&T, as they stated, is their tendency to play with words. So, them saying there was nothing going on at the WWL site could have meant nothing at that moment, for example.
Gomez:
That is likely the case. The last month or so has been relatively mild, so why not get a head start?

It looks like it might be somewhat larger, to the right of the photo there looks to be foot prints in the sand.
