News: Cedar Point blog shows footers at WWL site

I think that by "unprecendented" they meant they had seen the plans in a manilla folder and nothing more.

And, for unprecedented I'm going to say they are going to do some serious theming. Something a few rungs...or an extension ladder...above Disaster Transport.

To take words out of Kinzel's mouth, he will not do theming again. The rides are the themes at CP.

I agree with Grovite above.

Not to say that the coaster wont be amazing ;)

Why? I've ridden the mondial TopSpin at PCW and it kicks major butt! Hmm, I can probably figure it out for myself...

Hey, what do you think about my DT area plan? It's not totally done yet...

Oh yeah,

G= Games

Ri= Ride

R= Food/Resturant

Oh, and the broken up lines means it may or may not be there... depending on what I think up...

I don't think they would take out the green room and employee parking.

yeah, whatever, it was just for fun.

I am seriously bored waiting to go to CP this may, it's starting to screw with my head.

My personal opinion was that we would see a water coaster, but after looking at that black and white pictre, it could be a B&M coaster which is what I'm going to stick with now. Now once I go on Opening Day, I will give a better guess. I want to say that it will be a B&M Floorless just because this is one coaster that Cedar Point doesn't have in the B&M lineup.

But still, it could always be a woody. It fits with that end of the park. Mean Streak, Gemini, Maverick? *** Edited 4/6/2006 8:27:52 PM UTC by Your-Moms-Gotta-Mullet***

Every once in a while the mention comes up of a 500 footer and I know that most people are doubting it anyway, I just wanted to bring up the point to those who are not that Cedar Point already tried to be the first one to try a radical new design to try and build the tallest coaster and it was a complete failure. Even Kinzel admited it. So there is no possible way we will see anything that big anytime soon.

Is there any way a Dive Coaster might be added? I went to Busch Gardens Tampa over spring break and Sheikra was amazing. Add 50-100 feet and a little longer ride and it would fit in perfectly at Cedar Point.

For the last time, NO! The whole point of a dive coaster is the ability to have a long vertical drop on a coaster that's not really that tall. CP has already done this the old fashioned way by building higher. There's no need for them to build one since the whole intrigue behind the design is already present at the park.

Kinzel never said Dragster was a failure, or that the ride itself was a disappointment. He said that the downtime surrounding the ride was disappointing. Stop twisting his words around to make it sound like he hates the ride.

The ride has so much downtime because of the propulsion system. If they went to 500 feet with a cable lift, they wouldn't run into many more problems than they did with MF. Quit comparing apples to oranges.

I know we have a long way to go... but how long did the TTD speculation forum get before it was announced? I wonder if this will break the record....

OOOOH...I can only hope... haha...

Ripcord Crew 2002 / MF Crew 2004

TTD speculation began May 5th, 2002. It was announced on January 9, 2003. I think this has already broken the record, seeing as speculation started when Kinzel announced his retirement.

Do you have some sort of an installation manual for a dive machine or perhaps a catalogue from B&M that states the purpose of a dive machine?

Because thats a pretty big finger to wag right there especially when no one except for Cedar Fair L.P. and their respective employees know. *** Edited 4/7/2006 10:57:06 AM UTC by Coastern3rd***

I also have to take issue with the dive machine comment. I don't think that is accurate because, to me, it seems like a dive machine creates a unique experience. What does CP have that creates that mimics that? I can't think of anything, personally. TTD goes vertical, but at a speed where you almost don't have a chance to notice. A dive machine, on the other hand, has a traditional lift, eases you into the "dive", and thusly creates a diving experience, whereas TTD is more of a speed and height monster.

Now, don't take this to mean that I think CP is building a dive machine for 2007. I have already made my prediction, and while its probably wrong, I doubt their building one of these, but for different reasons than you stated, CP_bound.

I personaly think Dive Machines are ugly and wouldn't fit the traditional look of fronteer town, now I personally think "Project 2007" is going to be the worlds tallest fastest Flyer @ 200'/65-70 MPH with a lift hill/launch similar to 'The Hulk' at Universal. This is only a guess, I have no Proof/Info.

Lets hope its NOT a flyer.

They are boring and they are not a ride that you can ride over and over again.

what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.
Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.
I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.
